wouldnt it be funny if they used riced out civics or something to that effect for unmarked cruisers? with lots of naaaaws as a superise. i would get pulled over a lot quicker with that than an f-body cop car because i admire other f-bodies but love to beat ricers.

TPI Firebirds have about 10 less hp than the Camaros. The airbox runs around like a snake and ends up going down and then up, ending in the front passenger side corner. There is a tiny little filter in a huge black box that has almost no air entry. It sits on top of one of the braces with the opening blocked by the brace. You can get so much more power just doing a custom job or relocating it. Like maybe re-routing a hose into where the foglights go...

here in Maine there were 6 new Z-28's when the 4gen style
came out and they looked sweet...but within a month half were totaled! And then a year went by and now they have none.....that I know of,because we used to buy there through away tires for our beater tires.
when they first came out I had seen a cop in one of the Camaros and tryed to whip around and follow a passing car ... he ended up spinning around in the same direction he was already going in originaly and half in the ditch at that, you would have had to seen it.I was embarrased for him LOL!
They just couldnt handle that real power...

Add Ilonois and Indiana to the lists for LT and LS 1powered 4th gen cars, both marked and unmarked. Im also almost positive that they both had B4C thirdgen Camaros as well(almost 100% sure)...
And oh yes I dont care what it is but u slap a goofy 8 inch tall solid block lite bar across the roof and ill engage it in any top speed contest with my Formula or my TTA :-)
Thos elite bars are absolutely horrendous for aerodynamics like as in knocking 12-15 mph off the top end and the taller and blockier ones like some approach 30 mph topend goes bye bye
See if i can scrape up some old road tests with the info... Tested cars as sidemirrors(old school and big) and especially lite bars were added, was pretty sad lol

I remember reading a road test of a B4C camaro pulling like 150mph top speed. Don't remember if it had light bars on it or not, but the 150mph top speed caught my attention.

Really? Now that suprises me.
I have a reman engine that came with TBI 350 caprice heads (doh!!). The heads are 193 swirl ports with 76cc chambers. Because of the heads I have less compression, and they flow worse. The first time I had the car above 100mph I took it as far as I dared. I passed 135mph no problems and almost did 140mph before I decided it was fast enough. It wasn't pulling very hard, but it was still pulling steadily along. I probably had another 10mph left before drag slowed me down.

I know that here in midwest Ohio about 10 years ago, the Montgomery county sherriff had a GTA, The Darke county Sherriff had an 85 Iroc, Ohio the State Patrol had Irocs, these weren't Dare cars but Drug seizures. Although It isn't third gen related (Sorry mods) I just had to share this pic of the new Miami county dare car, I get a chuckle every time I see it because it reminds me of an old paddy wagon.
