Front tire rub, convertibles only
Hello, I'm kinda new here, I've been signed up for a while but haven't really posted much...well heres my problem... I have an 88' ASC Iroc convertible. The tires were rubbing ever since I got the car, so I had my father look at it at his shop and he said its the support that ASC put in. What happens is it pushes out the inner fender plastic piece. Its too far out, causing slices in the front tires from the metal on the supports. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Thanks in advance

'90 IROC 'vert here, no tire rub on the ASC added frame rail, but comes awful close to the plastic on the inner fenderwell on turns. Could you possibly have a bent A-arm?

No problems here either 91 RS convertible.
All thirdgen tires will rub at lock if you're running 235's or better. If the plastic inner fender liner is loose that could be causing it to rub. Otherwise I'd say you've got more in depth problems.

Thanks!
Hey guys, thanks... I think its a hit and miss thing. The car does need to be aligned so I'll have them check and make sure everything is good. To my knowledge and by the looks of the car it was never hit. It is pretty bad, it went through the plastic and it polished the ASC frame addon.

No tire rub problem with the original 16" wheels (front on front and rear on rear) and 245/50 16 tires.
You have oversize tires maybe?
