85 Z28 w/t G92 option

Ok I bought this car Yesterday, and it is in awesome shape but I have a question about some of the RPO's, The car shows an RPO of G92 ????? Is this possible??

I looked through the Camaro White Book and The illustrated Buyer's Guide for Camaro's and both show only G80 available???

Am I nuts

Also It has GT4 - 3.73 gears ????

One thing that could shed some light on it is it has:

1AY: Stock Orders Processing Option (DEALER ORDERED CAR)

Help me out guys, I though only IROC's with L69 could get 3.73's

G92 (performance axle ratio) only available on IROC-Z for 1985

The car also doesn't list G80 but the owner said it was POSI, I know I need to check this out for myself but is G92 override a G80 code?

In 1985, the option G92 was available on the Z28's only. That being said, remember that the IROC was an additional package on the Z28. So both the IROC and the Z28 had the availability of G92 in 1985. The 3.73 gears were part of the G92 option and came with the 5 speed tranny.

Thanks for clearing that up, the info on this site, kinda made me think it was an option only if you got the IROC.

Good to know thanks

G92 is first and foremost G92: Performance Axle Ratio. Some years G92 required other options. Your RPO's tell you everythign the car has. If you don't have G80, you don't have posi.
