Firebirds Ever come with an 8K tach?

Engine: 2.5L Iron Duke 4 cylinder
Transmission: 5 speed manual
Firebirds Ever come with an 8K tach?
In all my searches on the internet on other peoples cars I started to notice that their tachs are either 6K or 7K. But my 84 Firebird S/E has an 8K tach.
Whats up with that? How many cars actually got the 8K tachs?
Here is a picture. It's hard to see but Im sure you can agree that it is an 8K. The needle is way up past 7K in the picture. I have no idea why it rested on that when I shut of the car that day.
Anyowho...can anyone shed some light on this?

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Here's a scan of the one from my 86 SE; I think all the V6 powered ones and the 5.7's got an 8k tach (with different redlines), not sure about the 4-bangers though.
