Anyone seen another Camaro with this stripe package?

I was just wondering about the pinstripes on my car, I've never seen another Camaro with the same stripes on it, did the factory put these on or did the dealer, I bought the car new but the local dealer didn't have a car like I wanted and had to do a search, they found this one about 500 miles away and had it trucked in.

Looks dealer installed to me. I've seen an 87 with a pin stripe like that (not exactly the same). I also have a poster of an 85 IROC thats black with red decals and a red pin stripe. Looks nice but I don't think any of them came that way from GM.

Nope, Dealer or owner installed stuff. My 92 Z28 had pin stripes from the dealership. Peeled them off lickety split.

I seriously can't believe someone asked about pinstriping being factory on these cars. That has got to be the best question I have heard yet!!! By the way, it was a very rare option. It was so rare, there isn't any doco on it.

It's a somewhat valid Q when you buy the car FROM A DEALER, but NO not factory, probably dealer, maybe owner installed, and personally I'd remove it

The wisecrack from me is just that, a wisecrack. Something as simple as pinstriping, especially one like above is a guarantee aftermarket. I enjoy reading these posts, but come on people, let's think about! Dealers are always adding things to cars or trucks to improve the image. They also add fabric protection and undercoating and paint sealant. With all those additions, they just increased the value of the car $1000. The pinstriping alone just increased the value $125 when it cost them $3.25 to install. And people pay it! I just find it amusing that you actually think a decorative pinstripe might be a factory option.

This truck is sitting on the dealer showfloor by me. I wonder if it's factory! By the way, it has only 8 miles on it.

I know where your coming from Scott, but just because someone asks a question that you think everyone else should know the answer to you don't have to make fun of them, I'm sure I know a lot of stuff you don't, so a simple answer like (yes those are dealer installed pinstripes) is all you have to say. I was 95% sure the pinstripes were dealer installed and I just wanted to know for sure.

There are a lot of '91-'92 era RS' in my area that have dealer installed "Sport" decals in the same area as your Heartbeat decal.

Your striping looks pretty decent, but it does look very early '90s. I'd leave it until you repaint, you might find that the exposed paint has faded enough to make the graphics still noticeable after you remove them. Bright blue doesn't fade much, but still fades a bit.

Theres a green 91 or 92 RS running around here that has that same exact pinstripe even has the heartbeat decal. The pinstripe was a tan or gold tho.

Yeah, I like it too. That's why I've left it on there for the last 10 years.

I have that EXACT same heartbeat decal on my car also.....The car when decked out in at 8 decals.....yea 8 of them..I removed all except the ones by the gas tank..

Were these the popular fad back in the day, i have seen a lot of camaro's with them, or did the dealerships think they could get more money with some decals on there?

The heartbeat decals on my car were on:

The window banner
Back Window
The keyfobs(2)
The side windows(2)
By the factory spoiler(2)

I guess the previous was proud he was driving a chevy
