To sell or not to sell???

I have the chance to buy an 86 TA Lg4 700R4 2:73 T-Tops Power everything with barely over 50K miles for $2500, but I would have to sell my 89 L98 Iroc which desperately needs paint T-Top seals and has 150k miles but still runs like a raped ape needs valve seals and other minor work arrg! I hate to lose my TPI 350 for a weak assed Lg4! damn how hard (expensive) would it be to regain the lost hp n torque????? The TA is beutifull by the way!

Keep the IROC. Save money and rebuild your engine when you can afford to and get a paint job. No LG4 car is worth giving up a 350 TPI car.

wait a min. let me defend the (LG4).I recently sold my '88 formula 5-speed which needed a little body work at the nose and acouple of touch ups,or a paint job.and it needed valve seals and had 135,000 miles. i sold it to buy a mint cond. 5-speed '84 firebird S/E recently painted pearl silver with only 65,000 miles.i bought it because it looked beautiful, had low miles and did'nt blow smoke at idle.i thought i was down grading in proformance. all i'v done to the car so far was hedders to a 2 1/2" y pipe to a 3" inter pipe out to a 80 series flomaster, removed emissions, homemade duel snorkel routed for fresh air, and your basic tune up. And the car has a stock 3.73 rear. And this son of a b*tch hauls ***. i've beten cars that i should have lost to. I've beten a '88 350 TPI formula, I hung with the LT1'S and a car load of people while my oppoent was just the driver. It all depends on your set up. every time i get behind the wheel nail the gas and slam through the gears i'm impressed. that LG4 305 has alot of *****. If you pass it up,especialy that its a firebird, you'll never know what your missing out on. Belive me i did not want to sell my '88, i loved that car.you should ask "jerflash", a good friend of mine from my neighbor hood about the ***** of my LG4, he posts on these boards frequently. Even he's amazed

Well, you wanted to know how much more you would have to invest, right? So far, you need to change the rear to 3:73 gears, which is not a big deal. So go for it!

Good point

But I love my TPI it's so pretty! I guess what I was really looking for was a reason not to buy the TA cuz the more I think about it the more I want to keep the IROC. Come on it is a 5.7 TPI!
I think i'll try to find a way to buy the TA with out selling my BABY then i'll have both woo hoo!:lala:
