g/fx factory primer/base color

I was just wondering what the primer color was for the plastics like ground effects and hood blisters? Or the actual plastic color.

My paint has flecked off of both and it is maroon underneath. I suspect this is a previous color it was painted before the black paintjob that was on the car when I bought it. The original paint code on the car was black though. I just think it would be odd to get the car with black, paint it maroon and then black again. Maybe it change colors between changing hands with different people.

Twistopher,

The paint is not applied directly to the plastic. Their is a gray primer applied before the paint and from looking at this side skirt they are painted off the car because the gray primer that is applied to the skirts is not on the red paint on the car.

This is the rear side skirt behind the rear tire on my 86 Z 28 and you can see the over spray of gray on the side skirt supports.
