"I am getting direct emails from the guys at the corvette forum about the group purchase. If you could just have the guys from third Gen email us their orders and I will keep track of them and combine them for the group purchase. When they total the minimum, I will let you know. That would be the best way to keep track of things. I am pretty sure that there are enough orders already to run with the $825.00 price.
Thanks,

Ken"

Heres the email address guys! Send those orders in and make sure you mention you're part of the TGO/Corvette GP!!!!!

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

i was just pointed to this thread. im kinda fuzzy on the whole setup. this is a direct replacment for and existing GM TPI unit and all stock sensors will work w/ it? i seen it comes w/ a fuel rail, does it come w/ injectors? how well does it work w/ stock heads? what aftermarket heads can be used? does cam size matter?

It can be a direct replacment for the stock TPI, it uses stock injectors, it will work with stock heads or any SBC heads you want to use with it, if u plan to use vortec heads you'll need to order the vortec base, cam size depends on the rest of your set-up

I sent an email to Ken letting him know what I wanted to order and to bill me when there is enough people. Who else has emailed him? Have you gotten a response yet? Just really excited about the new manifold and am in the dark on the progress we have made with Ken.

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

Fraid I don't know of any extra discounts. $175 is already pretty good. They already coulda made about $1000 more on just 6 ppl, so it adds up. But we do have more than 6.

yes it is still possible. The pricing is valid until the 15th of January. Just send in your order and BE SURE TO MENTION YOU ARE PART OF THE GP. The vortec version should be identical. I believe the only change is the changes in the bolt pattern and such needed for it to mate to a vortec head, But i do not thing there were any fundamental design changes. Feel free to ask Ken though

I want to know if they will cut me a deal on a base and runners with hardware ONLY as well. Im at a crossroads and cant decide what to do, but either way I cannot use the throttlebody. Im considering going with a fly by wire setup.

They should. Ken cut a good deal for the "with electronics" guys so I have no reason to think that he wouldnt help out the guys who want less. Shoot him an email though just to be sure: firstfuelinj@aol.com

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

Hi everyone:
Been watching reading and learning around here for awhile. I would join if I could sell my vortec base a nd asm runners. If not I will probably sook at the BBK, though not my first choice. I emailed Ken who sent me the specs on the system, and ikt sounds promising.

Would like to have it
Thanks

This also means that I'll have a Vortec base and stock TPI runners/plenum/TB/fuel rail up for sale shortly.

The guys over there seem really responsive to questions - I imagine if you ask them, they would tell you.

I only sent them payment last week - so I know i have a few weeks to wait (also they would need to cut down the throttlebody a bit for it to fit on my vette).

I know, I was surprised but I wasn't worried. It does keep me from looking out my door every few hours. I have to wait till next month anyway before I can assemble any of the other parts I will need. We may go on strike Feb. and we won't know anything till the day we do. I have to save my pennies.

Guess I'll have to make my wife sleep in the garage to guard it. She's meaner than a junk yard dog, but a lot prettier

Here's to hoping that there's another GP soon. Tax returns are, after all, right around the corner.

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

Hey just wondering what you guys are planning on running for a cam with this intake? I was pretty much sold on the xfi268 or xfi280 from compcams till I starting hearing about the spring problems the steep ramps on these cams can cause, especially over time. I guess now I'm looking at something like an XR276 even though its not exactly perfect for my setup. Lets see what you guys are planning to do with this thing!

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

I too was looking at the xfi268. I have not heard anything negative about it.

The only question I have is should I convert to roller or not - which of course would be a slightly different cam.

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

Navion, I am going to be running the XFI280 hydraulic roller. I have AFR heads, and figure that if springs give me problems down the road, they are easy to replace. (Although I haven't heard any negative things about the cams killing springs.) My machinist thinks I should have gotten the XFI268 though. It's going into a truck (he's probably right I just don't want to admit it) :lmao

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

I'm staying small but I hope it will sound right for a 69. CC503 cam. If the idle sounds as nice as I have heard then it will be cool.

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

tmichaud-

I think its around 10-15 hp difference and maybe a little more fuel economy with the roller over the flat tappet.

Why does your machinist think you should have gone with the 268 over the 280. I was actually considering the 280 for a 355 maybe that is a little overboard. Did you get the spring upgrade with your AFR's? I'm starting to think that maybe I should have.

Re: FIRST fuel injection intake GP

I thought I should have upgraded the springs also but after comparing with my machinist the 8017s that come with the AFR's and the beehives that comp recommends for the XFI's, he and I decided I was ok. I have a 383 with 10.5 compression. The reason he thought I should have gone with the 268 was because my truck weights 6000lbs, needs a little more umf to get me off the line. I think that with the larger displacement of the 383 I can handle a little bigger cam and still keep the powerband usable in the truck. I have a 2000 stall converter also. only time will tell.

I have the XFI292 in my Camaro right now, I have had no problems with my springs and its been in the car for 2 years now, I have AFR 195 Comp port heads, I was thinking of leaving it in just for a dyno comparison between the FIRST and the HSR I have on the car right now, If I like it I'll keep it in for the time being, but eventualy I do plan to drop the cam down in size because I feel the XFI292 is too big for the FIRST set-up and I plan to run boost on the car so I can get my power that way with a tad more street.

If the XFI292 is close to were I like it then I might also degree it 2deg and drop the powerband down a couple RPM (Shane you might wanna look into doing that with your XFI280)

I'd still suggest the XFI268 rollor with a 355ci or when in a truck also for the 383ci, my car has the cubes and still doesnt turn on till later in the RPM range, not sure how much of that is the HSR though. At 4000RPM its like someone hit the TURBO boost lever on one of them old TYCO remot control cars

Right now with the HSR I can flash the thing to 6500rpm in a heartbeat but I get the best 1/4mile times shifting at just over 6000rpm, again I am not sure just how much of that is the HSR though
