I will definitely be buying this car at some point. The only question is whether I buy it from you or from the next owner. It's only a matter of justifying it to myself at this point, which is just a matter of time...

The fact you posted means you should just go for it.
Oh, and what's up Temecula person. Went to TVHS and lived there many years. I'm just over Ortega now.

Yea, I know. I'm dumping a bunch of cash into a small start-up right now and would feel pretty stupid if I ended up starving it by using some of my reserves on another toy.
TVHS Class of '91. Go Bears. My profile pic is me and my '85 Trans Am in 1991.

You should get in touch with me - you may be surprised at just how anxious I am to lighten the load here and may find down the road you made a higher return here than with your startup!

Haha! No doubt you're right on the return aspect!
The problem is that I really am head-over-heels in love with your car, but buying it right now would be unbelievably irresponsible. 2-1/2 years ago, or 2-1/2 years from now, I'd jump on it without a second thought.
I'm going to PM you with my contact info, anyway, but with the intent that I want to keep track of where she is or where she goes rather than to work a deal with you right now.
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
He spent a little bit of money on the paint & new spoiler, bought & installed shocks and installed the headliner & end links that I gave him but I think that's still a little much for the car just yet.

T-Ram car is still available - Complete with Ronals, cold air intake, new rear, aluminum driveshaft etc - $10,000 Will consider selling without Ronals and Air intake for less.

well if you sell those separate I’d be interested in t ram and ronals and possibly intake.
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
As you probably know if this didn’t have the wheels and intake it would have sold a couple years ago. The car clicks all my boxes. ‘90, black/grey, 5.7. Exactly what I bought in late ‘93. If I bought it as it sits I’d sell the Ronals and t ram. Because as you just mentioned there worth about what the car is. Perhaps selling them separate might make sense. Yes it requires getting an intake, wheels and tires. But from that point on you would no longer have said items sitting in your garage.
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
Leaving today, new battery & fuel pump are in, poly end links were installed while it was on the lift. Hopefully the new owner will share his plans with the board when he gets it home.
Convertible has been moved to the new house if anyone is interested.
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
So is that the last of the thirdgens? Time to mark the thread Sold and lock it down if that's the case, or people will be bumping this thread for the next decade asking about the sold car(s).
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
It is Drew & thanks. I still have the 87 IROC I ordered new and found/bought back in 2014 but that will never be leaving. Soon to be restored with it's new interior with suspension built to 1LE specs it will likely be the only 3rd gen I hold on to. That said, I am looking for a track day car, something with a cage and big brakes so who knows.

I say keep it open. Think of the fun in virtual bludgeoning unsuspecting members for years to come.
Also, congrats Chris, for the cars and the new house!
Re: Thinning the collection - few Firebirds for sale.
If anything, Newbs will bump the thread, then we point out it's 10 years old and everything is sold, then the newb whines that we're all snobby *******s and we hurt his feelings, they never post again and cry to Facebook, or Reddit, or Youtube comments about how we're such a bunch of big meanies. No one benefits.
