"sold" 1992 Base Firebird Convertible 92000 miles

Excellent 1992 Firebird Convertible!!
305ci TBI V8 Automatic (not a Trans-am)
92000 well cared for miles!
$4885 OBO

Must see and drive to appreciate!! Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w30 for 20 years!!
You will have to get used to all the head-turns and comments such as ‘Nice car!!’ .

History:
I bought it new in fall of ’92 . (I have original window sticker)
It was a fair weather only daily driver through 2002 (averaged 6850 miles per year (mostly highway)).

Since 2003, used only on golf days and occasional cruising (average 2460 miles per year (mostly highway)).
NO wrecks, accidents, or fender benders.
All original paint except front clip has been re-painted (rock chips etc.)
I had a LeBra on it for several years, but eventually removed it.
Until last year, the front seats have always been covered.
The back seats have always been folded down with a protective carpet
over them (they are really pristine!)

Always garaged and always stored December thru March (no salt, ice, or snow!)

Factory options:
Manual cloth seats, PS, PB, PW, PL, A/C, Cruise, tilt, fog lights, P mirrors
Original owner's manual is included!
New car "We Build Excitement" CD is included (contains 2 tracks (features and radio))!!
Also included is the Factory repair manual for 1992 Firebirds.

Maintenance:
I have a log and receipts for all repairs and non-oil-change maintenance.
Starting with the very first oil change, Mobil 1 Synthetic for 20 years!!
The rubber door/trunk etc. seals have been periodically sprayed with silicone.
The tranny had fluid/filter replaced in 2010.

Condition:
Paint is very good. There is a curved scratch on the trunk lid, a BB?dent on the left front fender, and a hail/acorn dent on the hood.
The hood also has a few tiny rock chips (commensurate with 20 years!).
Interior is very good (Gray Cloth) (new Firebird logo floormats). NON-SMOKER!
Engine compartment is un-believably clean!!
The convertible top is still very serviceable, but not pristine: there is a worn spot on the left side,

and the plastic window needs replacing, but it still keeps the rain out should you be surprised by a shower.
The headlights have new replacement gearing and work as they should.
New struts on trunk lid.
The power antenna does need a $20 repair kit to replace its plastic toothed strip, but is stuck in the up position for now (receives just fine).

Excluding the antenna, as far as I know, EVERYTHING is in proper working order.

Modifications:
Yes, I know, some like it bone stock … but the TBI as new was such a dog (when compared to my ’88 stock Fbird 305 with a 4bbl). The following mods have made it quicker, and more fun to drive, but it has not been abused (no tickets and I am retired).

160 deg thermostat with a 160 degree fan switch (cooler runs better!)
3” stainless exhaust , big glass pack replacing the Kitty, dummy O2 sensor, and dual outlet performance muffler in the back. (not too raucous, but is a nice throaty sound!)

Air induction blower removed with a new re-routed fan-belt (+5 hp).
Edelbrock racing air cleaner (I have the original).
215/65 R15 BFG Touring T/As 6/32 tread depth on the front and 245/60R15 BFG Radial T/As 8/32 tread depth on the rear (keeps the RR from spinning so easily).

Also, the radio has been replaced (I have the original) with a Sony MEX-BT3700U and all 4 speakers were replaced 2 years ago with Pioneers.

And you can’t miss the stunning Trans-am decal on the hood. It’s a real attention getter, and really sets the car off nicely. But if you don’t care for it, it can easily be removed with a gentle heat gun.

The steering is tight, tracks straight, and has even tread wear across the front. It is a great ride!
