1984 15th Anniversary Edition-5speed!
Well, I have finally decided to sell my pride and joy, instead of just throwing it online in bargain trader or craigslist, I would like to find a good home and someone that will appreciate it
Not in a hurry to sale, so will take my time, I just finally believe with my hectic work schedule and getting older, that I can't give the car the time it needs.
I bought this in California (It passed Cali emission tests) 6 years ago and have only put around 300 miles on it since, it has been garage kept in North Carolina since then, here are the specs:
Its all original and factory, it has 49,900 original miles! It has the original 305 H.O. motor, 5 speed transmission, and 3.73 rearend, original paint, rims, and interior. The white rubber door guards that were brownish when I got the car I painted blue to match the pinstripes and decals.
All power mirrors, power windows, and power antenna work. The car is fully functional and drives fine. It does have a small oil leak at the rear main seal, which is very common for these, and the valve cover gaskets needs replacing, they smoke when you first crank her up until it gets warm! I installed a hurst shifter, but have the original shifter, and it has a kenwood cd player, punch200 rockford fosgate amp, and 2 jbl ten subs in back, but I do have the original radio that come in the car!
It has a couple of small dents on drivers and passenger doors, where it looks like someone opened a door against it in its previous time around the door guards, but no paint has been removed. It has normal wear for a 1984, but paint and decals are all intact, a nice wax job and a few small dents removed and it would be in excellent condition! No rust, as you can tell its been kept inside! Could use a new set of tires, but they are not slick. Both headlights come up fine, but only one goes down, u have to manually put the other down, I believe it is the headlight switch and I bought a brand new one, but never installed it, its included also!
The interior is in decent shape, cloth around headliner under T-tops is a little loose, there is a small tear in carpet under drivers mat, and drivers side recaro seat has a tear in leather where it looks like it was rubbed when getting in and out, BUT, I have matching recaro leather brand new in box to replace this, just never got around to it! Other seats have normal wear and tear but in great shape, Transam in cloth is faded a little on front seats, but back ones look great!!
She sounds great with flowmaster muffler, catalytic converter went bad, so I had it gutted and removed the smog belt, but smog pump is still on the motor as to keep it original! We have no emissions test for a 1984 in NC, but with a new cat and smog belt, it would pass California emissions, just like when I bought it! A.C. compressor is on the car, but not sure if it needs a new one or it needs charging, never had it converted over to the new freon type, its all original!
That is about it, I'm asking $8,000, which is far below the NADA value. I would love for it to end up at a good place where someone can enjoy it, improve it, and give it some much needed time! Very nice car! Serious buyers only, please!
Here are a few pics and can take more upon request once we talk more!
You can email me at rjbunn@embarqmail.com or PM me here! I will take pics of what you specify and give you my number so we can talk. Thanks for looking!
Extras included:
original radio, original shifter, 2 brand new plastic brake vent coolers, brand new cpu chip, cooler thermostat, and fan control, I was gonna give it a little more boost without messing with originality, but never installed them, also, K&N air filter cleaner(never used), K&N oil filter, and new headlight switch, never installed!
Few pics for you to view!

Wish I'd known about your car a few months ago. Looks really nice. Is that mileage documented somehow? Anyway, hope you find it a good home. Wish I had more room in my garage. More money, too

Re: 1984 15th Anniversary Edition-5speed!
I had it inspected by a mechanic that said the mileage matches the condition and parts on it for originality. Also, it came from CA and the VIN shows the mileage because it required emission inspection, one inspection the mechanic put a 1 in front of the mileage, but looking at the previous mileage in the years before it would be impossible to drive it that many miles because I have the original receipt for the second set of tires that were put on the car in 2003, and they are still on the car. In other words the original paperwork from the owner in CA and the mechanic inspection will confirm the miles. Also, I replaced the starter when I first got it and owning a 1984 Trans Am in 1987, it was the original from the factory! So I am 99.9% sure about the mileage! Thanks for looking, still for sale!
All the paperwork from original owner will be included also.

I had a family member that was going to buy it, but couldn't get his money right, gave him a deal of $5500, since it didn't work, I will pass the deal on to others! $5,500 is a steal!

I don't see why not, it's drivable and the rear main seal not gushing oil or anything, can't guarantee, but I would feel safe driving it that far, hope that helps!

That's good. Does the clutch and all gears in the trans work? Were you able to get an inspection sticker this year? Do the gauges work? Are the brakes drum or disc? Where abouts in NC are you located? Did you drive the car from California to NC, or did you have it shipped? None of these are deal breakers. I just want to know more about the car. Thanks

Motor, clutch, and tranny all are in great working condition. I'm in Wilson, NC, I had the car shipped from CA, to Durham, NC, and drove it home, which was about 80 miles. Could easily get it inspected, but took the tags off, since not driving it that much, to save on insurance costs. Hope that answered all your questions. Oh, and it's all disc brakes.
