1989 Firebird - Tornado Damaged - For Sale
My 1989 Firebird was damaged by the recent tornados in Alabama. I purchased this car new in 1989. My nephew and I started rebuilding the car last year. Due to the damage, I will be scraping the car. If someone is interested in the car, please let me know. It is located in east central Alabama.
The car has a rebuilt 305 engine from auto zone with 2500 miles. New shocks and struts, new tires, new alternator, new battery, new a/c compressor, new a/c condenser, and new carpet. The headlight motors have been rebuilt. The odometer was rebuilt and works properly. It had a two month old paint job (although you cannot tell it from the picture)
The left side of the car was damaged by the tornado. I had replaced the windshield and door glass. All of that was knocked out.
We put well over $5000.00 in this car. All we needed to complete the project was a new headliner and seat covers.
My 17 year old nephew and his parent's home was destroyed by the tornado. The only room standing was the closet that they were in when the tornado hit. Although I am sad about the car, I am just glad they lived through the EF-4 tornado.

I rode an F3 once here in Arkansas 2 days before Christmas. It blew my car 40 yards down the road sideways with me in it and a billboard from the previous town was floating in front of me about 100 yards in the air. It was bright green (the storm cloud) and sounded like a train (deep roar). It did a few million dollars damage here. My thoughts are with your family. No one can explain the raw fear of one of those things when it is actually in your lap.

Everyone is fine. The car is an automatic. It has a rebuilt (auto zone) 305 engine engine with less than 2500 miles. I am taking offers. If no one wants the car, I am going to pull the engine, battery and tires and sell it for scrap. Such a waste.
