1991 Firebird Formula 350 TPI (L98) WS6
I'm selling my 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula.
I've attached a copy of the information in my Craigslist ad:
Since I listed the car for sale before, I have gotten the car running. First, some specs on the car's options:
350 V8 w/ Tuned Port Injection (ORIGINAL, _NOT_ A 305 CAR!) - Rated at 245hp and 345ft/lbs torque.
700R4 - 4 spd automatic transmission
Black exterior (has been repainted, but car has always been black)
Gray interior (front seats are black, but the rest of the interior is gray)
140mph factory speedometer
4 wheel disc brakes
Posi rear with 3.23:1 gears
WS6 Performance Suspension Package
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Power Mirrors
123,xxx miles
Clear TN title IN HAND
The interior is in really nice shape for the year, the dash is near perfect.
Work done within the past 2 weeks:
New Battery
New fuel pump
New fuel sending unit
New fuel filter
Sealed/Tested fuel tank
All new o-rings on the entire fuel system
New rear sway bar end links
(8) Reman'd Bosch III (22#/hr) injectors with all new upper intake gaskets
New 180* thermostat
New belt
New upper radiator hose
New Radiator
New air filter
New distributor cap
New ignition rotor
Changed rear differential fluid (also added posi lube)
Oil Change & Filter
Rebuilt the passenger side headlight - both now go up and down easily
New plug wires
New plugs (come with car; need to be installed)
The car starts up and runs great - The engine sounds very strong and doesn't smoke. It starts up first time, every time; I've not driven it far, but the trans shifts nice and smooth. The car is virtually rust free - The bottom has a little surface rust in some areas, but it can be brushed off - It is NOT structural. There are no signs of rust damage/holes anywhere! The body is reasonably straight - The front passenger side fender could use some work & the roof has a couple dings in it. There are some misc dents elsewhere, but all repairable. The car needs paint - The paint is faded and flaking off.
I still consider this car a project car as it needs some work before it could be considered a daily driver. It absolutely needs tires and could use brakes, as well as shocks/struts. The steering box feels a little loose to me. The only thing that doesn't work inside is the power mirrors - The mirror switch needs to be replaced. Even though the car runs/drives, I would recommend trailering it home because the tires are really bad. I wouldn't trust them at all to drive on. I would also recommend having the suspension/steering checked to ensure everything is in working order.
This is a very solid car that is quite hard to come by. They only made 5,490 Formulas in 1991, and I'd estimate that less than 1,500 of them came with the 350 option. Most were 305 TBI or 305 TPI cars. You can email me and I'll give you the VIN#; You can run the VIN# at http://www.compnine.com/vid.php - You can get a COMPLETE listing of all options/RPOs on the car, including the B2L/L98 and WS6 options. These 1991-1992 Formulas are getting harder to find, and the 350s are quite hard to come by at this price, especially considering all of the new parts and time I've poured into the car!
I have included a LOT of information here so that you know just as much about the car as I do!
My price is $2100 FIRM Please, no tire kickers or low ball offers; this car deserves the price I'm asking.
NO TRADES.
I've included some pics as well - I don't have any of the engine at the moment, but under the hood is completely stock; The wiring harness is in tact, and in good shape; this car is an unmolested original - Still has all of the emissions equipment too!
Thanks!
