Re: 1992 Formula 350
Thanks for the kind post! I saw another one just went for 7500 on the boards and being plain honest looking at that cars photos towards mine, I know this one should have went first, sorry guys!
Everyone asks why, yes Id like to garage it and keep it but I cant. The budget Im on and the distance I drive is too much! If you wanted a Hawk and the odds of getting one as we know is slim to none, this would be a great car! Color combo, year, engine, and with some money you could have a real machine.
Whoever eventually gets it will be surprised and on here saying what a gem I can promise.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
I'm not trying to be a PITA but aren't the Formula 350 supposed to say Formula 350 on the doors and then the 5.0L Formulas just said Formula? Is that not the original Formula sticker for the doors? I'm not saying this car doesn't have the 350 in it but I was just wondering. Confusing too since the decal on the power bulge says 5.7L.

Please do some research my friend, Formula 350 were on the doors of the 87 to 90 model years and 91 to 92 just had Formula.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
I should be going Saturday to get this car. Everything checks out, and it appears to be a really nice, low mile car. Im excited to pick it up, and hope everything goes well. I look forward to meeting Andy, and giving the car a new home in Tennessee.

I'm happy for both of you! I wouldn't trade my ride for anything (although the 5th Gen ZL1 would be tempting!), but I kinda wish it were me picking up a like new, well cared for 350 this weekend!

Re: 1992 Formula 350
Well the deal won't happen.
He's wanting cash only and I'm not carrying that amount on me anywhere. I even offered a certified check but that's not good enough either. So I guess I just eat $400 for the plane ticket, and other expenses I've invested trying to buy this car.
It's a shame too. I really wanted this car. I guess he's just not ready to sell it.
And for what its worth, this is the second time I have had trouble with a deal in Florida. But I promise its my last.

A certified check is the same thing as cash. You don't even have to wait for funds to clear...they're already there!
When I did my "remote" purchase (I'm in TX and the seller was in MI), we both happened to have the same bank. So all I had to do was get the cashier's check and FedEx it to him. (A leap of faith to be sure, but it was worth it.)
Is that something that could be worked out? Buying a cashier's check from the seller's bank?
I'd hate to see this sale disintegrate. I was rooting for it.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
I was not going to post, but since he decided to..... I am not giving an out of state stranger my car with an out of state credit union check that could be on hold and just let the stranger take my car with title, come on man. I said cash and you decided it was your way, sorry. Good luck on finding one.

-sigh- . Okay, both parties who were actually involved have posted. Andrew has made it clear how he wants to do his deal with his car. Please do not post in this ad unless you are interested in buying so it does not go off topic. Off topic posts will not remain.
Thank you in advance.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
The only thing Ill add is, that its absolutely ridiculous to expect a person to carry $7k in cash, through an airport to meet a complete stranger in a different city and get in their car, with no promise of being able to leave with a signed or clear title. Whats to stop you from driving me somewhere and just taking the money by force at knife or gun point? I just wanted some protection, a paper trail or at least a show of faith. I offered every option I could think of, except cash. The check was guaranteed, and safer than cash, because only you could have cashed it. I couldnt even put a stop payment on it. But...Whatever. Good luck with your sale. I hope such a beautiful car can find a good home someday.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
I bought a car from a sponsor on here for $18,000 and had to pay in cash. He would not take a check from a credit union either because he had gotten bad/really good fake ones before.

I sold a 2000 ss camaro to someone out of state. He came here got a motel we went to my bank and certified funds were put into my account. I released car when funds cleared next day. Its possible to do. Understandable that you dont want to go through s Florida carrying that kind of cash.

Re: 1992 Formula 350
I can't believe this car hasn't sold. For the Pontiac guys it's one of the most sought after models. My niche is the Camaro and I would die for this car.

I agree with you on your price Andy. My bird is in the same condition as yours, and like you said, it's hard to find them like it for sale. Had people offer to buy my car at blue book value and I just laugh. Good luck with your sale!
