I'm not terribly suprised, actually. This economy sucks, & people just aren't buying cars like these right now. If he had a copy of an appraisal in hand to fax to a potential buyer(s), then maybe a bank/credit union might consider loaning on a car of this age. My bank about laughed me out of the door when I asked if they'd loan on an '86 T/A. They said if I had a prof., certified appraisal, they might consider borrowing half the value on it. Times are tougher, & banks have gotten way tighter than some people seem to realize.
