87 GTA 5.7 L 704R4 tranny with posi track rearend
87 firebird GTA for sale in Pittsburg, Ks
$2000
I bought this car last March as a project car for a buddy and myself. The guy I bought it from couldn't get it to start after he replaced the plugs, wires, distributer, cap, rotor, and coil. He told me he took the tranny out and had it rebuilt but he didn't have a tc to put in it. I have bought a new ignition modulator and it started right up. Upon starting it, we heard a knock deep inside. We then took the motor out and replaced the crankshaft and all appropriate bearings and seals. It had several bolts loose. I also replaced the oil pump, and timing chain and sprockets. All seals I took off have been replaced with new ones. The engine is in the car and runs. It will need the lifters adjusted. The headlights need installed and it needs a headlight assembly for the driver side and a washer fluid reservoir and coolant reservoir. The interior is fair condition. The body is straight with no rust or dings, however the paint is faded. It is wired for an amp but has no radio. It needs the ground effects put back on. The engine also needs vacuum hoses hooked up or replaced. The transmission is installed but will not move the car. The mechanic I took it to thinks I may just have the wrong torque converter in it. The tranny lines do get hot, so he doesn't think the pump is broke. I have a put a lot of money in this car and have run out of time and money to keep investing. I will be graduating college soon and need a second vehicle yesterday. I am taking a loss on this car and think the price is very reasonable. Feel free to call or text with serious offers only please to 417-529-1653.
