91 Formula 350 Hardtop Red/Gray $4600

Love this car, but need to sell (moving)

Had it since May of 06, no rust on body, 103k original miles on the L98 engine. It runs very strong with a lot of low end and passing power, the automatic trans shifts perfect and hard when you get on it...the tires give a nice bark at even 3/4 throttle!

It and has the WS6 suspension and 3.23 limited slip. Options include AC (blows cold) power everything ( except seats) cruise control, factory cassette with equalizer and those classic 16 inch "High Tech turbo wheels"

I've used only Mobil 1 since I've had it (about 9k miles) and have done the following maintenance/performance items right around when I purchased it.

AC rapid Fire plugs, MSD 8.5 wires, MSD cap and rotor, 160 thermostat, AC fuel filter and O2 sensor, Open K&N air filter. It also has a Front Y-pipe in place of the dual cats and sounds really good coming out of a Hooker Aerochamber muffler!

I also replaced the headliner with a brand new Gray one, and it was missing the rear spoiler when I bought it but it now has one. The car is located in Debary Florida about 30 miles in between Orlando and Daytona. I am asking $4600

Re: 91 Formula 350 Hardtop Red/Gray $4600

some new pics taken yesterday after a shower. s you can see, the car is in excellent shape, the Bright Red paint is shiny with hardly a scratch, even the headlights work perfect. The only problem I can think of is a slow drivers side window.

I will drop a few hundred off my asking, if someone is really interested. This is the cheapest(and nicest IM0) 91-92 Formula 350 for sale in the Autotrader in the country right now.

Thanks, I'm tellin ya, the pics don't do this car justice, it's that nice and clean and runs even better!

If I was keeping it I would have put Firehawk wheels and tires on it, and have a 92 Firehawk(if I could find one) clone for 1/5 the price!

Original paint car? Any accident or repaint history? Any pics of the underside? How much oil does it burn?

I believe it was repainted at one time(not sure) because the paint really shines but it is the original Bright Red. I did a carfax when I purchased it...came clean no accidents. No pics of the underside yet, I can take some...but it's as clean as the int. I've changed the oil 3x in about 9k mi and it was always full.

Re: 91 Formula 350 Hardtop Red/Gray $4600

Just FYI...I had the car in the Autotrader(cost me $45 for 8 weeks) well the first week I changed the main pic on a wednesday to one I had already uploaded because the main they were showing on line the paint looked faded(it's not) the mag came out the next day without a picture saying"photo coming soon"

The pic was there the next week and you're supposed to renew it after 4 weeks and it was telling me online "ad expires Dec 8th" well Friday was the 7th I went online to renew it and it wasn't there!

They told me it was because I "didn't call to renew" and Dec 2nd was 4 weeks from it...I'm trying to sell this car, payed them there money and they couldn't even send me an email to notify me if I didn't renew it would cancel!

oooh..they said they'd give me 2 extra weeks after the 8 weeks is up.

I've had this problem in the past with the Autotrader with other cars.

here are some more pics...I've been asked about the underside...it's clean with no rust, and the spoiler is from a nother 91 Formula, brand new painted to match, excellent condition with no cracks.

Re: 91 Formula 350 Hardtop Red/Gray $4600

Still for sale. Car was sold over the phone to a member on Tuesday who was going to make shipping arrangements....have tried to contact, have not heard back from him. I also had someone want to buy it about 150 miles away and wanting me to deliver it....I do not have insurance on it anymore, nor a tag! I took the insurance and tag off when I got my 98, it's just sitting in the driveway covered waiting for it's new owner or for me to win the lottery so I can keep it!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I just haven't drove it the past few months(I do start it up once a week). If the car is payed in full, my time and expenses can be compensated, and insurance and a temp tag is put on, I might consider delivering it, but if you want the car, best bet is probably having it shipped or picking it up yourself. $4k is my price, it will sit nice and covered till spring at my parents house if it has to but the car really needs to be seen and driven, it really is a hard to find and nice car, it's not your average beat up, rusted thirdgen needing this and that...the description and pics don't lie.

a paypal deposit was given on the car, so it's just awaiting payment and shipping, which is planned for next week.

Re: 91 Formula 350 Hardtop Red/Gray $4600

Thomas Depiro aka F&Ybodlover in Debary Florida is a scammer.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!!!

This 1991 Formula is NOTHING like described!

Sad that he was so desperate to sell he had to commit fraud to get the deal done. Especially because I took his word on the cars condition.

I am currently working with a local attorney and an attorney in Florida on Fraud charges. Looks like his own paper trail may cook his goose.

I offered to pay over $1000 on shipping to return the car as soon as it arrived if he would give me a full refund. He hung up on me. He won’t return phone calls, email or a portion of the purchase price.

I spent over a month asking questions to understand the true condition of this car over half way across the country.

He flat out lied. Why?

So far I’ve driven the car 20 miles before it died on the highway. It’s still setting in a shop. The alternator was out, the battery was junk, the heater is bypassed. The body and interior were NOTHING like described. The cooling system has issues. So far I’ve dropped over $300 and it’s still setting in a shop! They say it needs another $2,250 before being roadworthy... Not to mention the stuff he lied about on the body.

Wasn't like I was expecting a perfect car, just a car like he described.

He could return $500 and I would eat the cost and let this all go away. This seems more than reasonable considering....?

A seeing eye dog could have done a better job describing this car.

Unethical scum like this shouldn’t be allowed on here. He knows it too.

Sorry to rant.

The same thing almost happened to me on a 02 Firehawk Formy I wanted to buy....lucky for me I drove 36 hours to pick it up and inspect it rather than have it shipped. It can be a pain in the a$$ to do but it can save your butt if you buy many of them. I just had a buddy get burnt on a 89 GTA he bought from a dealership in NJ and had shipped down. They had filled rust holes with bondo and touched them up for photos they sent him. His lawyer said he bought it "as is" so there was really nothing he could do even if the description was off.

Good luck with the car!

I'd like to know more details. Sorry to hear about your car problems, one would hope you could enjoy a car more the 20 miles before crapping out.

Ive bought and sold several cars sight unseen over the net. Risky to say the least. When I bought my first third gen it was shipped from Virginia to Washington state, while it wasnt exactly as discribed I knew it was used and therefore would be a crap shoot if it had problems, luckly it was reliable.

With my current Formula, I flew in 600 miles and drove it back. While I notice several minor things wrong with the car I bought it anyways and drove it home without issues. But it currently sit in my garage waiting for the fuel pump to be replaced Oh well, its getting replaced with a walbo pump and hot wire kit so I hope I don't have to deal with it again.

I'm seeing more and more cars advertised with pictures showing the car wet...usually means cars clearcoat is shot, but hey looks good while wet. The rest of the pictures are 10 footers...plus doesn't indicate overall codition of the mechanicals. YIKES...it's one thing buying a sub $2000 car sight unseen, but much above that probably need to inspect...One young adult's MINTY car is a POS to others. Just my opinion...

I agree 100%. I met a guy about a car locally the other day he said mint and sent wet pictures. Not even near mint and clearcoat was shot. Last week with a set of 16x8 gold crosslace wheels he said they were mint with no curb rash, perfect clearcoat, no scratches and no corrosion. When I met him, curb rash on everyone and clear coat wasted, scratched and corrosion. People drive me crazy when they do this. Another good one is: Rebuilt engine and tranny and they have no reciepts and the engine and tranny are real dirty.

Are you kidding, the POS won't return phone calls or emails....

Just got it out of the shop yesterday. $879 so far..... At least the car runs strong!

The car isn't horrible, it's just nothing like he described.

Where's the integrity at?

It's hard for me to believe that someone would just bold face lie like he did.

I've done this for a long time and have never had someone be so dishonest.

It's not for me to judge his character although I'd sure like to drive this car through his front door.....

You are a ******* liar and an a**hole Greg, I hung up on you because you were rude and demanding your money back over the console being loose and a small burn mark I didn't even know about in the rear seat that and you called the car a turd.

I desrcribed it the best I could, you wanted a new car for 4k, can you believe this guy had a fit about a loose center console(I told him it was in dcent shape but loose) and some rust on the batter?

The pics don't lie, it was a very nice car especially for the $3800 you should have paid $7k if you could even find one if you wanted one nicer. I hid nothing, the heater is not bypassed you idiot the throttle body is.

Just got it out of the shop yesterday. $879 so far..... At least the car runs strong!

The car isn't horrible, it's just nothing like he described.

Where's the integrity at?
When did you call me or email after I last spoke to you liar? Show me a phone record or email sent?????

All you did was send me a pm that I just saw as I haven't been on this site since I sold it...I really have no reason to right now.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the car when I sold it, it was just sitting in the driveway for almost 3 months without me driving it and just starting it up LIKE I TOLD YOU! Not horrible.... no ****! Nothing like described... You're a jackass!

It is a really nice car especially for what I sold it for.

I can understand someone asking questions when buying a car sight unseen but the questions this guy asked were bordering on mental!

this was his pm after he bought the car.

I was willing to pay $1000 to ship the car back and receive a full refund b/c I did not feel it is as described. I own 4 third gens right now and one w/ 100k miles....I know these cars very well and believe I ask several of the questions and did not get a straight answer.

Here's the bottom line. I'd like to ask for $300 back so the purchase price is $3500. If you will do this I will go away and we'll both roll down the road. Fair? If so, please send payment to:

Good luck with that.

Are you sure a little rust on some battery terminals ion a 17 year old used car is fairly easy to overlook?

My advice to you Greg is sell the car to someone who will better appreciate it..and get some pshyciatric help for your ocd.
