84 Trans Am - Knoxville Tennessee Area

84 Pontiac Trans Am. 65,000 miles. 305 HO (L69), 5 speed, T Tops, New Tires, excellent condition, drive anywhere. Tires have less than 100 miles on them. Car runs excellent.

Car needs O2 sensor (does not affect drivability, only throws Check Engine Light) due to headers being installed, has slight exhaust leak, and needs a parking brake cable.

You really must see this car to appreciate it.

Pictures located at the following link.
Nicks Trans Am - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Asking $6,000 OBO. No Trades. Will deliver within 100 miles of Caryville TN (zip:37714)

?

is it really a l69 because you have the wrong breather .it should be a duel snorkle and say 5.0 ho on it.

The Trans Am's didn't have the dual snorkel, at least that year, from what I remember. Unless I'm mistaken, it was only the camaro's that had them in 84, although you could probably special order one with a dual setup. I believe that was the difference between the camaro and trans am. The T/A had single snorkel and electric fans I think, but I could be incorrect in my research.

But, I checked the RPO codes of the car and it came back as an L69. I had it repainted a few years ago, and the factory decals were all there stating 305 H.O. which was the L69.

That would be correct for the camaro, yet the Trans AM had the cowl induction as the L69 option, so everything is in perfect order

85 L69 TA's had the dual snorkle and if any existed in 86 they would have had it.

Hi,

how is the underbody looking when it comes to rust?
Has the A/C been retrofitted to R134a?
What else does it need?

Thanks

Still for sale. $4000 firm. Fishbone, Sorry I didn't catch your post back in September. I'm susbscribed to the thread, but didn't get an email showing you had posted something. To answer your questions, the underbody looked good the last time I was under it putting the headers on. The A/C has not been retrofitted to R134A. There is a short in the wire that goes to the AC clutch, so I unhooked it and never used the AC. As far as what it needs, it needs the trim piece to go around the radio as my bro in law screwed a cb mic holder into it when he had it, so it's got 2 holes in it, the power antenna needs to be replaced, there is an exhaust leak at the Y pipe I haven't got around to fixing, and the seats could use a good cleaning. The car has brand new tires on it. They've probably got less than 100 miles on them. Car still runs good and has plenty of power, or as much as can be expected for a 305.

Oh, and the hood and hatch shocks need to be replaced as well.

Man, I can't believe this car hasn't sold yet! I'd love to have it, not crazy about the grey interior but that wouldn't keep me from buying. Alas, I have not the space and have spent all my extra $$$ on another project.

Re: 84 Trans Am - Knoxville Tennessee Area

Must sell due to divorce. $3,000 firm. Would prefer someone local to me that can meet me somewhere close to 37757 to pick up and take home. No shipping. Cannot drive the car far to deliver as there are no tags and insurance on the vehicle at this point.
