Why dont Vortech or ATI makes a supercharger for my 85-87 TPI car?

The reason is: I dont know why. But, you can convert your car over to the single serpentine belt setup.
Parts required:
-water pump
-alternator
-mounting brackets for both sides (unless purchasing a vortech you dont need the drivers side bracket that holds PS pump and alternator)
-power steering pump
-air conditioner or 1LE delete bracket
-crank, water pump, alternator pulley

This is what is required to put one of the ATI or Vortech superchargers onto your 85-87 TPI cars.

if you made a bracket couldn't you mount the thing in place of your a/c or smog pump and run it off the crank?

Could it be because of our MAFs? I expect that wire that is the width of a human hair might break under 6-12 pounds of boost.

Nope, it is the fact that you don't have serpentine belts.

The air filter comes first, then the MAF, then the supercharger, so its not that. Its just easier on them to make a supercharger to fit serpentine systems than v-belt systems.

Edit: In other words, the supercharger goes between the MAF and the throttle body.
