Fuel Tank Sump and Heat Shields

I have a 1990 IROC with a fuel tank sump installed. I am running dual exhaust with turn downs at the axel, and the fuel tank heat shields are removed. I want to install a Muffelx 4" single exhaust that will place the muffler back in the stock location. Does anyone here have this setup?Did you put your heat shields back on or how are you managing the heat from the muffler against the tank? I am thinking to cut a hole in the shield for the sump to fit through and bolting the stock shield back into place. Here is what my current setup looks like

Re: Fuel Tank Sump and Heat Shields

I used 90 degree fittings out of the sump, and still put the shields back on. I used to have a flowmaster 4" muffler, but switched to a smaller design muffler.
No issues (5+ years) with heating fuel with this set up.

Check clearance on the panhandle bar, it's really close to the upper support. You will likely need to lower the axle side mount.
