radiator support rubber padding?? any ideas?
i guess this is the best section for this.
Looking for ideas on what i can use for padding, rubber cushion for my radiator and support. My radiator is not in the stock location i have fabricated a new support for it, its 3" alum wide rad that sits on 4 1"x 2" steel. looking for something clean and neat

I use gasket maker (high temp) for spots that are close to rubbing in places. I put a huge Griffin rad in my 90 ZR1 and had to grind out the pad holders in the bottom to make room so I ran lines of gasket maker on the rad and lined the rad cavity with gasket maker and that was in 1998 and it is still in there with no problems and it cools awesome.

I woul use dense foam with sticky backing. Clean the areas with alcohol and stick it down.
You can use camper foam...like that you'd use for between a truck bed and a camper shell. OR...you can use something from Home Depot. Like door sealing strips. Can usually get that stuff in different thicknesses and widths. If you lay it nice and straight it'll look great...what little you'd see of it. And you can always pull it off if you have to.
Whatever you use, make sure its the dense stuff because it will compress some, but not all the way, and have a "memory" to it. Should work well.
