rat rod sport coupe?
This camaro I bought has a ton of rust due to t tops. Im going to basically ratrod the car because its honestly not worth dumping any money into. i just want a project for the next few months until I do something else. Im planning on flat black paint job and street signs to cover the rust holes in the floorpans ![EEK!](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)

_when_ you get pulled over (you know it will happen if you don't drive a generic shiny jellybean like everyone else), you'll have to explain where the street signs came from or you'll be charged with a lot more than whatever you got pulled over for.

Re: rat rod sport coupe?
When we had a bunch of the old car club cars show up at the track for a display on a race day, my car fit perfectly into the "rat rod" classification other than it wasn't 1962 and older. The flat black and flames gives it the rat rod look and I always get compliments on the car.
I painted the entire car including the flames with spray cans. Multiple coats of black to get good coverage then let it sit for a week and wiped it down with clean rags to knock off the residue. I ended up with more of a matte look that's very easy to maintain. Nowhere on the car can you see spray can paint patterns with not enough overlap. I've seen other flat black cars at the track that were obviously painted with spray cans and they didn't do a good enough job.
I masked off the flames. Painted a base white and after it dried, gave it a coat of yellow. The orange and red licks don't have a nice smooth transition between the colors because it's so hard to do with spray cans. The t-tops turned out a little better. I finished off the flames with a sky blue pinstripping. The paint job won't win any show and shines but it looks good in pictures and going down the track.
True rat rods don't cover up body rust holes.

My buddy and I toyed with the idea of making a rat rod Camaro. Then we realized that it would just look like every other beater 3rdgen!
