Car: 1984 z28
Engine: first gen small block 350
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
g body crossmember on f body
my buddy i work with has a brand new g body crossmember. i was wondering if there was any way to modify it to fit my f body. i wanna run dual exhaust but dont have the tools to mod the original member. any suggestions would be great, im new to the site and i have looked at some options on here but was jw if this could be done.

Transmission: ProBuilt S/S 700-R4 & ACT 9" Stall
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 3.23

Highly doubt it fits.
By the time you buy that, cut and modify it it would have probably been easier just to build one from scratch.
Our f-body type design:
G-body design:
You can still run dual exit it just gets a little close. Keep in mind this is 3" y-pipe with a Spohn Torque Arm which hangs pretty low. I had to ding the pipe to fit but that was about the only way. You could do something similar with 2.5" easy enough or you could route the pipes through the stock route down the passenger side.
By the time you buy that, cut and modify it it would have probably been easier just to build one from scratch.

yea i see what you mean.. i suppose i could go get a used crossmember from the junkyard and notch it out like ive seen on here and once i get that all how i want it just change it out

Stock crossmembers are junk. There made for mass production. I wouldn't trust cutting and welding much on it unless you supported the whole thing once done. There are a few people here that have built custom crossmembers out of angle stock and flat steel. I'd start there.

It's simple enough to make something out of the factory cross member, no ground clearance loss, no flex, no more than 60 minutes of test fitting, and welding together. I never cleaned up the welds but could probably make it look like it was one piece outside of the clear signs of using two diff pieces of flat metal with the factory cross member.

yea i see. im just trying to figure something out where i can run true duals right under it and still have enough room for ground clearance,
