What to do with my hood scoop?
The scoop is a fiberglass bolt on it's on a stock hood. Im wanting some feed back on if i should mold it to the hood or just keep it as a bolt on. I plan on cutting the hood to alow more room for the breather. The scoop isnt bolted on tight in the pics.

Re: What to do with my hood scoop?
I disagree
Our hood flex too much IMO so any bondo and fiberglass will crack just from opening and closing. Plus vibration from driving around will kill the bodywork IMO.
I would get the seams as good as possible and bolt it on

Re: What to do with my hood scoop?
I wouldn`t use fibreglass or body filler to mold that into the hood - use a urethane adhesive to bond it to the hood, and a flexible filler (like the stuff made for repairs on plastic bumper covers) to mold that into the hood. The urethane adhesive is EXTREMELY strong, but stays somewhat flexible, so it won`t crack or split later. Its similar to whats used to glue the windshield into your car. That stuff is sands like a tire though, so you don`t want to use that to `blend`the scoop into the hood - thats where the special filler meant for plastic bumper covers would come in. It would work well with the fibreglass scoop and urethane adhesive, and I`ve never had a problem with using it on bare steel either. Urethane adhesive and plastic filler are all paintable as well.
