Custom aluminum gas tanks
Anyone running a custom aluminum gas tank? I am looking at getting one made and just wanted to see some pics and get some thoughts/suggestion on what I should try and get made to get a better tank than stock.
As of right now I am looking at getting a tank made with a sump with AN fittings welded in for the fuel supply and return line. Not sure what to do about the fuel sender yet. I also want to get either plates installed or some sort of mounting brackets for the aeromotive fuel pump and filters.
Please post pics if you got.

Re: Custom aluminum gas tanks
Nasty Performance makes one. Its technically for a 4th gen, but it will fit, you need the 4th gen filler assembly.
It fits ok, the 3rd gen tank straps are short though. It uses a tube style sending unit, has 2-1/2 FNPT outlets in the sump, a 3/8" FNPT return and 1/4"FNPT vent. It doesn't play nice with you exhaust or heat shields, you will have to modifty things a bit.
The only complaint i have is they apparently dont baffle the vent connection. So fuel can slosh out unless you get creative.
there are mounting provisions on the driverside for a fule pump, but i dont know which pump is sopposed to fit there. I though the a1000, but no.
