Amazing artwork, definately not my style but awesome work. I would've used a darker color instead of the white maybe. It's unique now!

Really neat car, great fab work, cool art,but i'm not a fan of murals. I think the car looked best with just the gold bird, but thats my taste. Still lots of outstanding work exellent job man.

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
Almost done- I am molding it into the hatch to have a one piece look...the ends I will square off a bit so that it comes closer to the fenders- themselves.
Its cool- I like it, more so in person, the only thing that i am not sure about is if i should leave the rear-spoiler alone or shave it into the hatch as well

Over all I think it looks great, not to often you see a car turn into a work of art, just need some shinny chrome/aluminum wheels to make it perfict.
I do question the idea of using that 69 spoiler since the stock one flows so well with the car but guess I'll just have to wait and see how she looks when you get her done.
One thing I really like about the car is that hood, one of the nicer ones I seen for a t/a.

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
Thanks, Spoiler is almost done- hope to have pics either tomorrow or monday- i kept getting side tracked.
So far i am starting to dig it more and more. the hatch molding into the spoiler gives a neat look-but different then the rear. The rear...kinda growing on me- i think mentally i am so use to the duck spoiler on a 2nd gen that the tail lights stand out to me...if that is not weird to say, but...
then again the 3rd gen rear kinda becomes more square then i thought...weird to say, but it seems fatter, more then wider.
i have not made up my mind if i am to mold and smooth out the rear of the spoiler into the hatch...
As for the hood, thanks...personally- i love my hood, although it seems to be a hit or miss with people, but then again so is my whole car

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
So...I guess im in a sudden cross road with a lot of things to include the car.
I spent the day wet sanding the GTA - its back in black. Yup Airbrushing is off..orignally i didnt clear coat simply cause i wasnt done. Today - i simply dont feel the same as i did when i did it. So the meaning and thought behind it no longer remains.
Glad i did wait to clear althought it wouldnt of stopped me-just would of made the day longer.
So whats next?
i am not sure.
Currently there are a ton of little things i want to finish, before i start something larger.
I figure ill know what i want to do then...
I did start the custom fiberglassed front spoiler although i havent actually did the test fit-its almost done, but still in the air with it as well as the side skirts. I started them as well, but the whole side exhaust issue is hanging that up. I figured at first that if i mocked it up i could install and the finish molding the tips into the side skirts like the mustangs...but unless i get a welder and pipe-fab myself...it dont look like its getting done either. This then effects the rear drift. Which i was only going to do if i did the side exhaust. Pointless with tips hanging out the back. Either way i have to get an exhaust.
The Y pipe is done-I have replaced the header gaskets only to blow them out yet again (hate changing them). Reason was the 02 sensor. I was convinced that it was sucking in fresh air messing sensor up and throwing the lopes off...well i was haft right- the y-pipe actually has a hole in it up by the flange.
So exhaust is a must.

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
I
Createx Auto Air- its water base, so if you dont like it or what to change-water and lil degreaser...boom its gone.
degrease and wipe clean, you dont want amoral or there or any oils.
Dry.
Create your art work-and get someting called ClearJet.
google it and see who is a retailer close to you or try to order, its like 12.00 a can and is kinda pricy, but it works on vinyls and leathers-fail proof.
Vinyls are tricky and each brand or whatever, seem to be alittle different, Krylon has worked on some and not others (wont dry-sticky even with heat,or days of curing) I used 1305. I have others in the shelf, 1313, 1303 etc.... but the 1305 has worked for me. Its the number that appears around the bar code. "Krylon #1305. This is something you can get at Lowes HD or even wall mart and is like 6.00 a can.
Always test a piece 1st...
once you clear let it go for a day or so in re room temp-clean with alchol and your ready to install...(after your first alchol cleaning-you can use, reg oils)
Hope this helps...

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
I was with you until the murals down the side of the car. Not a fan of murals and the overall thing is way too busy. If it flowed a little better maybe, but you've got true flames and then the bird and murals down the side and then wispy ghosts..
I like what you did with the console and dash, and I like the bird on the hood and even the way you used the wings to border out some ghost skeletons, but after that point it wasn't so much that it was too much, it just didn't flow for me.
You're pretty talented though. I recognize a few of the skulls you did. Not sure I could duplicate them that well and there's no way you used a stencil on the one on the bottle for sure. Too detailed.

Thank you and even i agree with you on the amount...lol
Thing is I really did just start and just kept going, i didnt plan and desin anything just kind went with it...
tons of fun.
Car is Back in black and this time around i am planing something out.
I do like the bird and that ill keep but the rest of the car is painted black.
I have some nody mods i hope to do, so the airbrushing would of been distroyed anyway.
On to the next on.
Stencialing, i actually didnt stencial anything, i have seen sckulls and sckull designs ( like the console) i just incorperated what i have seen that i have liked. but the outside of the car...that is a 100% sper of the moment...
LOL
Anyway, I hope once i am done drawing up the idea's i have- i thought about posting them up and letting people vote...
Just thouht it be cool for people to get a chance to say ye or ne to something and then see it get done.
Thanks again.

some (artists) arent as flexable as you with there ideas, it's cool to see you dont get hung up with one vision, and are willing to try different layouts.
in the spring a couple of my buddies do track rentals at Atco, maybe you could meet us there and do some art on the hot rods.

Even if i could just set someting up there and show what i can do.- maybe even doing some small things there. This would lead me towards other oppertunities.
I really do enjoy and love doing this, Mainly to do different things.
Rule of thumbs seems to be- if i can draw it! I can airbrush it!
i mean i do have my own style and have my own way- but i like so much other things that i am pretty flexible and enjoy drawing diiferent styles and ways.
Just cool to do.
I did realise how much i enjoyed this-over the summer and i did deside to kind do more with this.
I mean, I am new to this and am just starting out-but have made alot of progress in just a short time. In Spet I went to SBA and SCORE and boom
BlackTop Ink was born (officaly) sept 15th.
I have a lot of pass experiance with both business and Art. Well other types of art, I have a Advertising Art & Design Degree.
So in short,
This is kind of for me and a side thing more or less which starting off that way. but even if it remained that way i would be happy.
And I am not out to make a million dollars at it either, which is the best part- expecially now. I like the idea of being able to help people create there idea's or dreams.
I did set up a basic wesite to just promote myself alittle and to use to get more oppertunities. Check it out if you get a chance- there is more art i have done. I am not gonna post up everything, but atleast when i do or get something that i think i should. right now its the CBR RR-pretty cool.
http://blacktopinks.webs.com/
Either way- keep me posted and hopefully we can do something together in the future

Re: BlackTop King's goes Black & Gold
Thanks, It defiantly was a pretty cool spoiler and I don’t have a pic of it finished. I did tighten up the ends so that they layed about ¼ inch on the top of the rear fenders, just with the body line…pretty sweet.
Well I have been MIA and I hate to of been, but in short and without getting to personal. This is what happened.
There was always two things I daydreamed about ever since I was a little kid, Trans Am’s and Moving away. Throughout the years I have actually achieved this dream, some better then others, Some lasted longer, some for the right reasons and some for the wrong reasons.
About a year ago my best friend past away and 2months later my closes family member passed away as well. I don’t come from the best background nor the best family structure and over the years friends and family have come and gone (in many ways), but never in my life did I ever actually lose anyone.
Although I have a good network and relations with people, I just don’t open, get too close or really confided with many.
The double lost really hurt.
During these next few months to be completely honest, everything that could unwind-did. Life is funny how it can do this to you and I have to say that I believe it does it when your not doing what your meant to, Of course at that time- this is not what I am thinking.
Either way, Although I didn’t have much, I spent pretty much all I had to help with the lost of my best friend, who had insurance, but not much and not that great. Only to get laid off due to company closure with in 2months of that So by the of all this. I was just a mess, Money went quick-Unemployment wasn’t that much and I could not get any work even close to what I needed…Just wasn’t there.
I was putting a lot of my free time into the GTA as she has always been there as a mental and emotional out let in so many way, but me personally I was just getting down and down.
Next kicker was my Landlord who I rented the condo from, ended up in a bad spot himself and in order to keep his house, decided to sell my unit along with 3 others, with short notices. I couldn’t do much cause my lease was pretty much up anyway.
My relationship (with Girlfriend) was suffering and changing due to a lot of the stress and really was being destroyed.
Once the condo was about up- I didn’t know what to do about what and felt very numb, so I either sold or gave almost everything I had away. Left and went to stay at my sisters (with girlfriend) until I knew what to do or until we found another place. This wasn’t the best or the biggest place either and very quickly I found myself just sitting in the GTA, thinking…WTF
I always do what I have to 1st, what I think is right 2nd and then what I want, last…Most times I never get to what I want, but when I do- I get it…few and rare, but I do.
So I kind of started thinking about what I want to do…not what I have too. And that’s when it clicked.
I think when people do what they have to for so long without ever breathing or doing what you wanted to- you lose something important with yourself. Me and my best friend had a lot of someday and one days, so did me and my girlfriend and so did I. I knew I needed a change, mentally. It was only getting worst and things were only dragging down and for the first time in my life I really was stuck low and below everything. I mean any day, the tow truck was coming for my Dodge ( daily driver). I can’t just lose everything because I mentally fell and just couldn’t get up…. I have to do something, but I also knew I mentally wasn’t going to be able to do something that I had too, until I did something I wanted too first for once….
So what did I want, I wanted a fresh start. I wanted to move away to start over in a fresh new place, new environment and so on. I wanted to give myself and Joanne (girlfriend) a fair chance at a fresh start to build a life for ourselves. Of course this can be done any were, but the mental aspect comes to play too. And at this point I needed that more then anything, fresh start mentally. NJ ended up becoming a dark cloud for myself and I needed that chance at a new direction.
It is what you make it I was always told! Right, well then I guess I made it bad and I wanted to make it right, just some were else. And the only place I ever wanted to move was the Carolina’s. Silly as it may sound, but ever since I was a kid I wanted to move to the Carolina’s and in my adult thinking, retire there.
So what was the have to do part….Well on that day, I had less them $30.00 in bank, way behind everything and notta dime to jump state. Let alone were to go?!.
So I told Joanne, I wanted to move. She said were I said Carolina’s. She thought I was crazy. Until I said I am going to sell the Trans Am.
Sh*t if we were in trouble beforehand we were then, she didn’t like the idea at all. But I explained my plan and my reasoning.
This is for a positive thing! Posative Reason! And I think that if it was done that way, it will outcome that way.
So that month Feb2011, I re-sprayed the car Black, left the airbrushing on interior and I sold the Trans Am.
Sold a Dream for a Dream!
I paid myself up to date as much as I could and on March 1st, I packed what I could fit in the Dodge Journey and left for Charleston SC
Were am I now…
In a much better place mentally that is for sure, and although I am not yet adjusted or settled in, I like it and am happy.
Arrived March 2011 and April 2011 I was able to find a pretty good job in the city and start working (9-5). Found a really nice place of our own outside the city, finally moving in May 2011. And at this point just trying to really get a grasp of things before I do anything else.
I mean truth be told the problems in NJ still exist here, place job, money ect…but I feel so much better and feel like I am moving back into a positive direction.
Best part is I still get to keep Airbrushing and hopefully will get a foot in, In the area and do some on the side. Could use the extra money, I mean I latterly having nothing of nothing, air mattress and a Rubbermaid tot for a table, but I am happy and feel more motivated then I have in a few years.
Even Joanne mentally is making a nice turn around and so are we!
Is another Trans Am in the future….
OH YEAH!!! I have to have one and I cant even explain how I miss mine and feel funky without it, but I am luck to of been able to get a place let alone a house with a garage. So I have the place for my next project and once I can I will get one, in the mean time I started to make a Trans Am wall in the garage for added motivation.
I was not going to put my life chapter out there, until I thought that maybe it would mean something to someone.
It is what you make it and we all need Dreams, without them we are empty and motionless. Dream to dream and chase it!
I have and will continue to…
Well I have been MIA and I hate to of been, but in short and without getting to personal.
