Re: non-pop up head lights

I gotta say... I really like that 77 style front end on the car! Especially with the headlight doors off.

And, I think you might be able to pull this off with camaro headlights...no? It would make mounting the lights really easy, and then just build the 77 style buckets around it. I almost think it will be easier to custom make those openings than adapt the actual parts from the 2nd gen. But I could be wrong.

Will the camaro head light parts put the lights about where they would have to be? You could always adjust them in and out with spaces too.

I hope someone tries this! They'll have to pull their GTA spoiler off if they have one...and fit some sort of smaller tail like the older ones had. That'd be cool.

J.

Re: non-pop up head lights

Now that's worth fabricating! I saw a 77 Firebird and an 86 T/A with decent front ends at the same junkyard. Had I saw this eariler I would have grabbed them.

Re: non-pop up head lights

Now that is a neat mod!!!! Definitely an alternative to replacing headlight motors and all that other crap.

Actually, you could probably remove the headlight motors and all that other crap, go with these and not only does it look cool but it also helps you lose some weight too!!!

Heres what i did, still waiting on the headlight control module so they will go up and down, but im happy with them. I used early grand prix bulbs with HIDs. http://s568.photobucket.com/albums/s...view=slideshow

It looks like you could raise the bulb another 1", thereby having the housing come up that much less (lower profile), increasing the "lazy eye" look.

Re: non-pop up head lights

Well i dont have any pictures but i wanted to utilize the grand am headlight brackets that allow me to adjust the lights as needed, ill try to get pictures later but i really couldn't move them up any more without having to start cutting a LOT more

they are great on the street, i think i will adjust them up a little.they are 1x6 inch, and use an h3 bulb. i got them on ebay for $14, plus another $10 for the 100w bulbs, as they only come with 35w.
That's actually the best looking pop-up delete type of light I've ever seen. I think this could still be improved if the cut in the head light bezel were rectangle in shape and matched the marker lamp assembly more closely.

Re: non-pop up head lights

has anyone seen these headlamps for the nissan 240sx? they are for the flip up style cars, to change them over to non flip up headlamps. there is a set on ebay for $100.00. I want to try an experiment with them but not sure if they are around the same size to cover the hole!http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-90...ht_2126wt_1167

Re: non-pop up head lights

Those 240 lights look nice but I doubt they'll look that good on the car. The lights themselves seemed to be raised a little bit instead of recessed into the housing/socket. So if you were to look at your car from the side, there would be little bubble raised where the headlights are. There is a Corvette running around here like that and it really irks me...

Re: non-pop up head lights

Curious about these lights too. This set up would work great on my son's race car.
