sheet metal spoiler
i wanted to get that hawks 5" spoiler but $300 is way too much for a spoiler to me and i now know a guy who works at a sheet metal shop. once i get some cardboard for a template this is probably how i'm going to make my new spoiler. i'll get it painted so it doesn't look odd and hopefully it will give the look of a track car (which it will be once i save up some money for suspension parts and a 5 speed). i was wondering if ya'll could give me some tips, this will be my first endeavour with sheet metal. once i make a cardboard template i'll try and post some pics for others opinions.

hmm....
you mean like just cutting the shape out of the sheet metal and riviting it or welding it or attaching it however to the car? or would you make it 3-d so to say.....
Either way would be interesting, and if done right and if the car matches it, then it would look cool :-)

i'm thinking just a piece of sheet metal about 57.5" long and about 6-8" tall with about 3-4 brackets to hold it on. like i said, once i get some cardboard or whatever i'll post pics to see what ya'll think.

Hmm....I like the idea, I'd try and make it a little smaller, and please, if you do this, carry the look throughout the whole car.....i.e. no 19" chrome rims or anything like that....
put some draglites on it, cowl hood, some big meaty tires, etc. and it will look badass :-)

oh no, i won't **** it out. i want to put some big ole 16 or 17 by 10" wheels on my car with some big meats(is there a way to do that?) and def. the cowl or SS style hood. i really like the look of the old road racing cars of the trans-am era, w/o the stickers of course, and that's what i'd like to set my car up for, street/track. but i've made another template and i know a guy who's coming to look at my template and possibly make a sheet metal one for me, he works in a shop and can do it for cheap.
