'91 Firebird Headlight Control Module
Hi,
Looking for a headlight module for my '91 Firebird, part no:GM1652/5685-1.
Been told that 87-90 module wont work on 91-2002 model, not sure of the differences but from experience they wont work. Lights comes on motors dont go up.
I have checked the motors as both do not go up/down unless I rock the light switch slowly as described to do maintainance on the headlight but they won't go down after. Checked the voltage at the module and both orange have 12v and the yellow gets 12v when switch is on. The output from the module to the lights Dk green / Grey (2 for each motor) I can connect + & - 12v and the lights raise, reverse the current and they go down, don't think its the motors otherwise they would not work this way and when you do this they are smooth and quiet.
The original module on the car would click the relay in the module but do nothing. I replaced the module from an 88 model (not known if ok as a try and see if it works) and this sometimes raises them doing the maintainance trick but not down.
I have also changed the switch for a new one & repaced both fuses that were blown when I got the vehicle.
Any one have a working module?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch, the module is located on the LHS behind the break master cylinder in the engine bay and slides out towards the wing once you remove the 5 & 4 wire connecter

That would be great i have no problems with that at all, you havent got a set of grey/black set belts loops as well have you?
if so give us a revised price inc shipping $.
you got any more stuff left to sell as i'll tell the other pontiac owners because they would be after bits i'm sure.
ohh yea new hood shocks fitted today as got too many lumps on my head.
Thanks

Re: '91 Firebird Headlight Control Module
Are you taking about the plastic piece that goes into the seat to hold the seatbelt? I have both if that's what your looking for 30$ shipped with module. I've got everything exceptradio/faceplate, t top bag, nosecone and front gfx and possibly headlight assemblys but the lights are still available. I'm going to start a thread in two days when I've been a member for 2 weeks, and pick up a 88 gta as i need the tires off the trans am. So once it's sitting on cynderblocks it will be my after skool project to part it out.
If you spread the word that'd be cool, stuff flys out alot faster!
