1989 Firebird Bandit II Parts Needed Cle. OH
Ok, guys, I picked up a 1989 Bandit II Firebird and I need some help locating parts. I am located in Cleveland OH, but willing to travel or ship parts if needed. I am looking for some new parts or udsed parts as well. Here is a photo of the car:
Here is a list of the parts that I am needing:
Passenger side fender (used)
Firebird Hood (used)
Ground Effects (New)
Dash cap (new)
These are the main things that I need right now, but I will also be loking for center console parts as well as an original radio. and probably a few other things as I go along. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatful.
I also have a favor to ask as well.... I have two different sets of rims to go on the car and I am trying to decide which set. Should I go with normal Firebird rims and paint them like this:
Or install GTA rims painted gold like this:
Which would you guys use for rims?

Re: 1989 Firebird Bandit II Parts Needed Cle. OH
the parts u listed are standard firebird parts.nothing special about them as far as urs being a bandit.
being that it is a firebird u can go to the junk yard and put a 6 cyl fender on there and it would be the same. or u could get a t/a fender on it. my buddy has a 91 or a 90 banditt at his lot. i would like to find the gauge applique that is in the bandits.
on a side note. one cool mod u could do to urs is to get a t/a 85 on and cut a hole in it and make that shaker stick on functional. that would be cool. but keep ur factory hood so u don't ruin the future value of it.
it looks like a and solid resto candidate. good luck.
but to ur other parts it will be hard to find them. especially since its a bandit. not to many parts being re-popped for our cars yet.
u could call hawks 3rdgen and see if they can point u in the right dirrection.

What kind of rims are those gold firebird ones? I have the same, but they are looking pretty crappy. How do I go about restoring these rims?

There are a couple places out there that restore the rims. I have not used any of them because I restore the rims myself, but I know other people use places like Wheels America or something like that.

Why do you need a new hood?
I would use any 16" Firebird wheels. I had convex, like the first picture, on my 87 Formula and I have the concave later Formula wheels now. GTA wheels are nice, but they don't seem to fit the Bandit Edition. If you are using 16s, I vote for the convex 86 T/A salad shooters painted gold like your picture.
Have you considered 15's? There is a guy around here that has the 70's snowflake T/A wheels on his 85 T/A and it looks pretty good...

I need a hood because there are alot of little dents and dings all over that hood. It is hard to tell in photos, but they are there. I have seen snowflakes on the car, but I don't know how they would look on there. The second photo of the GTA rims is there because the Original Bandit II cars had rims similar to the GTA style, so that is why I would put those on jusdt to get close since I can't find the Original Bandit II rims. I am also still looking for the hood and passenger fender.

I have a hood for sale. Not sure how i would ship it though. Its in real good shape. Has a couple of small dings but nothing major. I sanded the top down and put a couple coats of black primer on it. Heres a pic of it. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...i/DSCN1529.jpg I would take $100 for. Let me know if you are interested.

Re: 1989 Firebird Bandit II Parts Needed Cle. OH
personally id use the GTA wheels, the bandit cars came out with a set of 15 ultra wheels that looked like them. u can find them on a lot of conversion vans, cause Chattanooga Customs put them on alot of vehicals they used. it also came with a front lip, which resemble the trans am bumper but between the fogs it had a wide hole cut out. ii have pics of everything if u need them, cause i too have a 89 Bandit. by the way what number is urs?????
