'83 Trans Am turbo hood with screened cowl
Early 3rd gen turbo hood with screened cowl. Same look as the later Formula hood but with a real opening in the cowl. Came from the dry desert, sun drenched paint needs redone (obviously) but easy restoration, hood itself is in pretty good shape. Been in indoor storage since 2001.
$500 cash.
central Illinois, local pick up only

Oh, I see now. Thanks for that picture.
I wouldn't presume it is "missing", that was an optional feature and more likely wasn't built with it from the beginning.
Honestly, most people don't care about that. I'd rip it off anyway with my car.

Re: '83 Trans Am turbo hood with screened cowl
If you were a real performance enthusiast, the cold air package is the only way to go. Especially since your hood has the functional grate, and not a block off plate. And I disagree, most people who want performance will take the cold air. Then there are those who unknowingly think that rain will get in, and ruin there engine. "Not". Or those whose engines have never had the secondaries open, and would rather have it blocked, rather than listen to "all that noise".
But good luck with your sale. I hope it moves on to someone who can appreciate it. (Think it'll be a tough sell at your asking price tho. But you never know)

This is not a discussion thread, it's a for sale ad with clear pictures what you're getting.
I guess I'm not a performance enthusiast because that device won't work with my 700 Hp engine.

Crazy... Here in germany you can sell this for 1500 euro in a heartbeat. These hoods are the real deal for the Knight Rider guys and they are super rare over here. We have a big Knight Rider replica scene over here, these guys pay A LOT money for a real cowl induction hood.

Thanks for cleaning up the thread.
Back to matter at hand.... There are a few trades I would consider:
* IMSA hood, I would give you my hood + cash.
* I would take a Firebird radio pod as partial payment, has to be in extremely good condition with no broken plastics.

These are $750 at Hawks now. Gives me ideas to keep this, maybe paint it and use it after all.
