Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

In the next couple of weeks (2 or 3 weeks) I will start parting out my 1986 Trans Am with "T" tops.
The following is NOT with this car
1) Title
2) Motor
3) Trans
4) Hood

The following is damaged or not repairable
1) Front nose cover (bottom center torn)
2) Rear bumper cover damaged due to my trailer
3) right front fender has a dent at the marker light
4) Driver side door skin small tear at mirror
5) Driver side ground effects has a hole at the fender
6) Spoiler is real rough as usual with these cars
7) Overflow tank is shot

The interior is in rough shape due to the smell. The car was under a tarp for 2 years in the weather and has developed a moldy smell. I'm sure with a good cleaning and airing it would be ok and it might clear up after I start striping the car but I will update as time goes on.
I need to move the car from it's current location to my shop thus the 2 - 3 week delay.

The wheels are not show quality but they are in good shape.
The tail lights are in good shape.
It has the posi rear end (I'll get the info when I remove it from the car)
Headlight assembles do work (I tested them before it went under the tarp)

I will post pictures as soon as I find my camera. I will also post pics of everything as I remove the parts.

Wife says this project MUST go before I get my other project and this is a good way to fund it.
I will sell anything that can be removed from the car. With that said I would prefer local pickup of "bigger" items but I will look in to shipping.
YOU will pay for the freight and packing (some items will be very pricey). Also, I'm not sure how to pack some items such as glass (windshield, rear hatch, door glass and "t"tops), rear axle, front sub-frame Etc. so if you have any ideas and there is no interest locally, let me know and I will do my best. I strongly recommend insurance.
If you are interested in anything post a reply to this thread and I will reply as soon as I can (keep in mind I am not always on this forum and may not reply for a day or two).

Thanks

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

Ok folks I have found my camera and took some quick photos of what I could. I'm planning to get the TA to my other shop this weekend and I will start parting it next week.

I've replied via PM to those who are looking for parts.

Looks like I will need to add a few posts to get all the pictures up...

Yes the overhead console does have the flashlight and as far as I know it still works. When I remove the overhead and photograph it I will take pics of the flashlight working...

power mirrors? If so, what's shipping to 94112? Truth be told I only need the mirror glass backing plates, but since no one will sell just those, give me a price for the two mirrors if they are power. Thanks

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

For those that I have not gotten back to, I have been testing the parts and taking pics and videos. Some items I'm still trying to figure what a fair price is for them.

I had my better half take a bunch of photos of the car and parts yesterday as I removed some parts and I will post the pics on Photobucket.com as there are over 100 pics and I don't want to load this thread with that many pics...

I've also gotten a few requests for the center taillight section and to be honest with everyone, I would rather sell the taillights as a set due to their good condition as you will see in the pics. I will clean them up and take more pics of them this week.

As stated, I have started to remove some of the parts on the car but I didn't get as far as I wanted yesterday seeing that it was Mother's Day and I had plans for the afternoon.

I will be working on the car during the week but some of the parts may take a bit longer to take off due to them not coming off as easy as I thought or I just don't know how to remove them without damaging them...

I will be working on the car this weekend as well and if any of the locals are interested in picking up any parts I will be available...

As soon as the videos and pics are posted, I will post the links...

Thanks
Darrin

I will be at the garage working on the car tomorrow. If any of the local people are interested in coming out to get some parts, I think I have or will have just about everything ready to go that has been asked for.

Shoot me a PM and I will give you my Cell # so you can call me...

Thanks

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

Ok folks, here is the deal.

I need to get the car out of it's present location by the 12th to make room for the next project.
I have had a few local members asking for parts but I have not heard anything from them in a couple of weeks.

To the local members, if you are still interested in the parts shoot me a message.

Thanks
Darrin

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

Also I have more pictures that I will be posting tonight on my photobucket page and I will update this page when they are up.
I know there are some other members who asked for parts that were not spoken for yet and I have not forgotten about you, I just haven't had a chance to get the prices.
I have a list of parts for members and I will be working on that this week when I can.

Sorry for the delay, I had a few things come up lastnight and wasn't able to upload the pics... Pics are now being uploaded, they should be ready for viewing in the next 15 minutes at the same link stated above.
As you can see the interior looks to be in good shape and just needs a good cleaning. The moldy smell that I mentioned is just about gone so I will say it is safe to sell the interior.

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

First off I need to apologies to everyone for not getting back to you sooner, I've had a lot going on the last couple of weeks (I got married) and have not even been near the car. I am going out of town tomorrow to get my next project. I might be able to get to the car Sunday but I again have a few things going on...

EVERYTHING is still for sale and now up for grabs except for the members that have contacted me within the last couple of weeks, I still need to get shipping quotes for all of you...

The link to the photos earlier in this thread has ALL pictures I have of the parts... Look there first and if you still need pictures let me know and I will do my best to get them up ASAP.

Again I'm sorry for the delays...

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

Well time has not been too kind to me and I haven't been able to get to the shop in weeks... I think the best thing at this point for everyone is for me to sell local pick up... I know some of you have been wanting me to ship parts out but I just haven't had the time lately as I've had a lot of stuff going on in my life that has prevented me from doing much of anything car related.

Re: Parting out 1986 Trans Am White

Ok folks, I still have this car and all parts. I'd really like to get this thing out of the shop so that I can bring my other project in and get some parts for it. Shipping isn't an option right now, I'm sorry, so all you local members let me know what you need...

Thanks
