Stainless Steel Z28 emblems "finally"
I am now taking orders on the stainless steel "Z28" emblems I had made. They are laser cut 12gauge brushed stainless steel
THE FONT IS CORRECT!!! these are the only 3rd gen emblems I have seen that are the correct 3rd gen font.
Prices are as follows
Rocker panel pair $50.00
Rear emblem (with bowtie) $25.00
Full set (rockers and rear) $70.00
Deluxe set (rockers, rear and dash) $85.00
Then just add $10.00 for shipping.
the dash emblems are larger than factory size. I thought the factory size was too small.
I am still trying to find a skinny enough adhesive tape for the emblems, so mounting is up to you. I suggest 3M brand adhesive

you can polish them yourself. I did one of the Zs just to see what it would look like. It took about 15 minutes. I like the brushed look better. looks like the factory style texture.

OK... here is a ROUGH install. My car is filthy from the rain today and I didnt have time to get the old emblem adhesive residue off, but here is close to what it will look like.

Hate to be a pain in the a**, but could you take some pics with more of the car in them. I just want to get an idea of how they would look. Those emblems are unreal, I'd love to see the Irocs if you have them made. I think I'd buy a set. Thanks man.

The letters were too wide to make them taller and still keep the correct aspect. I am going to install them in the middle so they are centered within the recessed area. The first prototype set fit from top to bottom but the letters touched from being so wide.

Those look pretty nice. Do you have any more pictures of the rocker emblems installed but from about 10ft. away, and pictures of the rear emblem installed as well? Thanks, Josh.

Yes I still have them. This is going to be an ongoing thing. As long as people still want them, I'll keep making them.

someone from here was suppose to send me some doner emblems, but I havent received them yet. If I dont get them by the first week of August, I am going to make a 2 hour drive to go pick some up for free. So, I should have the IROC ones done by the 2nd week of September either way.

The emblems never showed up. If I cant come up with a donor set then I am screwed. If someone will send me a donor set of IROC emblems, I will give you half price on a set. They have to be in good enough shape to scan an image from for autoCAD.

Found a volunteer to donate. As soon as I get them, they are off to the fab shop. Hopefully they will be done by October.
As far as payments, right now I am only accepting US Postal money orders because I work 7 days a week so having a post office next door to my work is VERY convenient. Other money orders will delay shipping...

Yes that's true but some of us lead very busy lives and don't have time to run all over town when we could just use plastic on line.

if your that busy, how do you find time to play with your car?
just poking fun, but you think you could survive if life went back to 1990 where there wasnt all this cool stuff to click with a mouse?
people have gotten sooo lazy, IMO.

Gees, I'd have never thought it would've been this big of a deal. It's not 1990, I just stated an opinion if he used state of the art marketing techniques he may sell all he could manufacture. And yes some of us are so busy we see months between practicing our hobby.

Just to let people know. I wanted to clear coat a set for my car so I found some clear coat paint at Oreillys that is made for wheels. They came out looking a little sparkly and more silverish. They dont look too bad. When I get them on, I'll take some new pics...

I took them off my car, i just happened to be lucky they were in such nice shape. Pretty soon xlratorz28, is gonna have stainless iroc ones pretty soon, so just hang tight, and grab a set of them. otherwise, u can try ebay, but grey iroc emblems are selling for a premium on there, thats if they even show up. these emblems are discontinued.

Yes, but I need to know what kind of material you want, how thick, and the big thing is that for a one off emblem it may not be worth it, because of the initial setup fees.

what kind of setup fees are we talking?? i already have the bird logo and the TRANS AM lettering in CAD. not sure what i would do with them but i think they would look sweet in the same stainless at the Z28 emblems.

Even though you may have it in CAD already they will still charge a setup fee for loading the programming into the laser machine computer. As soon as I find out how much for an existing CAD file, I'll let you know. And, as far as pricing for the IROC emblems, since there are more letters than the Z28 ones, they may be slightly more expensive but not much.

When Xlr8torz28 and i originally talked he said it would take a couple of months before i would get my emblems back. So i would expect maybe late october early november, then again i have no idea how long a project like this might take, so thats purely speculation
However, I too am interested in the progress , and i am still awaiting the pics of the clearcoated ones he talks about a couple posts up.
