Before Vs After (Stock Vs Magnaflow)

Evening folks.

Just had my Magnaflow cat-back kit put on this morning...

Just thought I would post up a before and after video of what my stock exhaust (No Cat) sounded like compared to the kit I have on there now.

Before:

After:

I knew before I installed the kit that Magnaflow was a quiet exhaust... but WOW I wasn't expecting things to be this quiet!

Overall I love the new tone, might take a while to get used to it but I think it was worth it.

Re: Before Vs After (Stock Vs Magnaflow)

I've never found magnaflow to be a quiet exhaust. In fact, on all the cars I've heard it on its always been obnoxiously loud. Those were all LT and LS cars though.

But as for your two clips, I have to say that indeed the magnaflow was much quieter. Are you sure your old exhaust didn't have some exhaust leaks somewhere? There was a ton of rasp in the exhaust note that I never hear in a factory exhaust car.

Re: Before Vs After (Stock Vs Magnaflow)

When I first got the car there were a couple holes before muffler where the pipe went over the axle, but those were all fixed a while back when I had the converter taken out and a new pipe ran from there all the way back to the muffler. As far as the y-pipe goes I can't say for certain but I don't remember there being any...

Yeah, I hated that rasp/crackle noise.... At least now there's very little crackle..

I have a set of Hooker 2055 headers and y-pipe to go on in the future.. It makes me wonder how that will affect the sound rasp/crackle wise.
