Magnaflow Cat AIR tube too short?
I haven't driven my Z in years and it is time to freshen it up and drive it again. I have had a Magnaflow cat on the shelf for a long time as well. So I am going to start with installing parts that I have already purchased.
Good thing that I did take the old one off, as the honeycomb was in pieces inside.
But just doing a test fit, it looks like my A.I.R. tube is not going to directly hook up. Anyone ever run into this issue?

I was thinking of checking to see if NAPA had any kind of tubing but didn't know if they carried anything like that. Plus it looks like the AIR tube is stainless or something, so I can't weld anything up, will need some clamp in solution.

Isn't the magnaflow cat a lot shorter than the factory one?
I'm thinking the shorter cat and its all the way to the rear so it moves the air tube farther rearward away from your factory tube..
Set them side by side and compare.

Yeah, I've been meaning to put them side by side, so I did that tonight.
As you'll see with the original cat, I already had cut off the AIR tube going into the cat, as I was going to take that down to NAPA and see if they had any piping like that.
It looks like the AIR tube from the engine is some sort of stainless? How about the cat, what is it made of?
And anyone install a Magnaflow cat and run into this issue?

Afraid of the fact these are both stainless, can't weld anything. What are the chances that I can find something at NAPA??

I put that same cat on my 91. NAPA does have an air tube kit, comes with heat resistant hose and clamps. About 30 bucks. Part # exh 35574
