As I grow older, the days of my loud, obnoxious, cheater slick running Camaro are coming to a close. Car is way too radical and loud for me now. Running Hooker LT 2210's into dual 3 inch with Spintech Pro Streets running dumps.
Will switching to 2.5 inch duals with an X pipe into Flowmaster Delta 50 3 chambers with turndowns kill the HP on my 700 HP D1 Procharged IROC? How do these mufflers flow?

I'm open to other suggestions to quiet this thing down. As always, thanks in advance.

Oh and.... Say what!? You have a 700 HP Procharged IROC and you're gonna put 2.5" exhaust on it and a ~cough~ Flowmaster ~cough~ muffler and you wonder if it's gonna kill the HP. Ummmm, Yea I would think so!

Yeah I would say that the 2.5" pipes and 3 chambers will hurt you some. So you want a mean car, but not the sound? Ok I hope I never get that old LOL! I say leave what you have on there and deal with it as it seems you have a crazy fast car at this point. I do not like the Flowmaster Deta mufflers and the 3 chambers do not sound good to me at all. Also withi that much HP the 3 chambers will still be on the loud side.

What about a 2.5" exhaust system with mufflers for the street that have electric cutouts for when you want to take it to the track and use all 700 HP? Kind of expensive but maybe the best of both worlds.

Hooker Aerochambers! I'd actually bank on you picking up a few hp over the spintechs...if they are the same design from a few years ago and you will have your goal of quitening down the decibles! Spintechs had tall thin slot openings designed into their mufflers which was horrible on power! Been there and dyno tested and even seen other dyno tests! Aerochambers are my favorite at controlling sound and making most power. Good luck!

Sounds like I need to scrap the dual 2.5" Flowmaster Delta 50 thought....

I guess I'll research x pipes and see if that's a viable option. I have to do something, if I'm at cruise or show and come home late, I know I'm waking up the neighbors (if not the neighborhood).

I always thought that the muffler controlled most of the sound so replacing the Spintechs with lets say a Magnaflow design ,wouldn't that give him the desired effect using the sound absorbing technology.Isn't that what Magnaflow is famous for,mellow at idle /cruse but screams at WOT.

MAGNAFLO ARE REALLY QUIET ! flowmaster sounds like it's a can of rocks . my obx sounds like a magnaflo only louder . borla has the best sounding exhaust imho . i like my obx it's polished stainless steel an was cheep an fits great .i've had flowmaster an magnaflow an i like the obx the best . if i was rich i'd have borla but ....

On the 700 HP D1 Procharged IROC he has I would think the Magnaflow would be at there limit as far as being really quiet and keeping decent flow. As a mater of fact there probably Exactly what hes looking for.He said quiet it down.
