Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust with dual cats?
Is anyone running the Flowmaster American Thunder 3" cat back exhaust system on a 5.7 L98 with n10 stock dual cats. I believe its made for a single cat set up. Looking for ideas on how to keep the original dual cats and use this exhaust system. Would also like to see pictures of the system on peoples third gens if possible. Thanks in advance for any info.

There is a section in this forum completely about exhaust, with pictures. Just search around and get use to the forum.

This "is" the exhaust section. Where else should he go ?This is not on the car obviously but shows what the intended use/routing looks like.

Yes Sir that is what it looks like, sorry 71 Nova must have been thinking to hard. For I too am building my own exhaust, I am going to try and use the 3inch by 4foot mufflers and I have two of them maybe a true dually.

Nice pic ronusmcmma I just got done bolting my American thunder system up. I only paid $80 for it but I had to modify it slightly to hook up to the original dual cat converters because it's made for a single cat like in the pic. It bolted up pretty easily. It has a slightly deeper tone than the original but not that drastic of a change. Everything from the cats forward is stock so I guess this is to be expected. I thought that I may not like the tips but they actually look pretty good. they don't stick out passed the bumper much if any and they hug it pretty tight. I am glad I didn't pay retail for the set up, I would have been slightly disappointed. I know how it is Ed I've been busy also putting in dashpad, exhaust, hatch pulldown assembly, multiple test drives, shopping for parts and hot wheels. I new what the exhaust looked like because I have one, bought it yesterday. I overlooked the fact that its's made for a single cat and not dual cats and I had to modify it. Good luck and much success on your exhaust project.

Im running the american thunder kit for dual cat cars. Its part number 17228. It came with a y-pipe instead of the single pipe that connects to the dual cats. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLO-17228/. since its no longer made you can probably get by with the standard american thunder kit with this http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/sh...=&orig=Y214300 and a couple of j bends.
