Flowmaster System Question
Hey guys! Recently my muffler fell off as I was driving, yes it fell right off. I was going to order a flowmaster system for the 5.0L I have, however I know need one for my 3.1L. Would the exhaust for a 5.0 or 5.7 work on a 3.1? I am assuming they would because the hookups should be the same right? Going to order tomorrow morning so hoping that I can get a few answers tonight.
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!

Re: Flowmaster System Question
If I can't put a flowmaster system on from a bigger engine I am thinking about doing the Dynomax Super Turbo exhaust system. Anyone see any good performance or have a good review with that system?
If I can do the Flowmaster I was going to do the 17234 American Thunder system. Hoping for the flowmaster, but if not I can live with it considering I bought the v6 - hahaha!

Re: Flowmaster System Question
Go to Summit Racing on line, then give them a call at 1-800-230-3030 and tell them what you want.(open 24 hours a day,7 days a week) Their Tech. line is top of the line and their pricing and shipping is hard to beat. Also ask them for their free catalog.

Re: Flowmaster System Question
The exhaust wasn't going to fit which was a bummer so I went ahead and ordered the Dynomax 17493 exhaust system for 180$. I'm happy with the price so hopefully it does some good! Anyone currently using this system?

Re: Flowmaster System Question
Well I have had it on the car since Saturday. I noticed a difference right off the bat. The car is quieter, has a slight rumble at 1,000 RPM's and in general I like it! I would recommend it to anyone who is either in a bind for cash or wants a good bang for you buck! Is it a borla or flowmaster, no, but it is a damn good exhaust system!
Now for the down side. I had to make TWO minor fabrications to it. First one was a hanger that came on the mid pipe. It will not slide up over the rear end with it on and on my car, the hanger was useless. My second fabrication was cutting the tips. They stuck out and down about a foot. I was scraping soon as it hit ground so I cut it right at the bend and it looks really nice. I will upload a pic once the weather calms down.
My vote gets two thumbs up for it!

Re: Flowmaster System Question
Now I am going to need to get a converter and manifolds. I would like to stay dynomax, but does anyone have any opinions/reviews on others? I would like to order a cat by Saturday, going to check the junk yard first for an aftermarket one on any third gen.
I am open to anything and everything! Again I have the 3.1L 1991 bird

Thats a direct fit for a stock application. If your going to run anything custom/after market, double check with Summit.

Re: Flowmaster System Question
Awesome thank you! I'll call them tomorrow and ask about it. I'd like to throw aftermarket manifolds on it and then focus on all the engine leaks. I don't want to go too much into it because I don't know how much longer the engine will last...
