Quick question on the pipe going from headers to cat.

My y-pipe is pretty rusted out and leaks. Everything else in the exhaust system seems pretty clean. I have edelbrock headers.

I don't get the difference between the two parts:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-65930/ (about $60 cheaper)

One of them has the pipe from the Y to the cat, the other does not - thus the price difference.

Right, but the one with the y to the cat is the less expensive of the two. (Judging by the picture.) The descriptions are identical. Maybe the pictures are mixed? Maybe I should just call Monday, I'm just in a bit of a hurry so I figured I'd ask here.

The expensive one ain't gonna work anyway, unless you get something else to add to it - it's missing the extra pipe that the cheaper one has. I don't know - tech question for Edelbrock I guess - give them a call Monday. No need to order tonight, Summit won't ship until Monday anyway, and if you place order before 9pm eastern Monday, they ship same day anyway.

Re: Quick question on the pipe going from headers to cat.

Yeah I figured as much as far as the shipping. But the way my y pipe is now, I don't see anywhere for the extra pipe. Looks like it goes straight from the headers to the y and then connects to my cat without any extra pipe out of the y. Maybe 6 inches or so of pipe from the (collector?) but that is part of the y, not another insert. So you're saying I need to call Edelbrock and not summit?

I mean if they are the same thing I'd obviously just buy the cheaper one and discard the extra part but I can't think of anything that would cause the other one to cost more.
