For all the true dual exhaust guys

I have installed true duels with headman long tubes, now I have a problem trying to get support hangers something to mount to. What has everyone used? My exhaust runs down the trans tunnel under the driveshaft and beside the torque arm, so coming from above is almost out of the question. I hope someone can solve this problem.

Re: For all the true duel exhaust guys

harder in the middle, but with mine run down the outter edge, I just used a pointed body screw [like used on fenders n such] and ran the bolt right into the floor. [no pre drill, just run it in] Lots of places where the floor is double thick on the sides, but dunno about the middle, if you would poke through where it could be seen.

The one I had, had a tab of metal on one end, then a strap of rubber that had holes in it spaces out. Welded tab to pipe, then picked a hole to run the screw through.

kinda like this pic but the strap was all rubber with holes, not metal, same type of matal tab on the end.

I thought about running a self tapping screw but did not know if it would vibrate loose. But yours held, so I might try it, if I can find a double plate. I didn,t realize these floor pans were so thin, I,m scared to tack weld the hanger and blow thru the floor pan.

No problems, but I didn't use self tapers, I used a real GM pointed fender body bolt [they work much better, fat as your pinky], when I scrap a car I grab everything I can. Long as you don't over tighten like an ape they hold great. If your worried about seal, a dab of silicone on the threads before ya run it in.

Now on my other car, I just used bailing wire to make loops where I could that limit the ammout it can hang down / pull it up closer. As I weld all my stuff so its not gonna come lose if it does bounce around more then if a real hanger is used.

really only 2 goals with a hanger

1 don't drag on the ground
2 don't send vibes into the frame/body

rest is looks

Re: For all the true duel exhaust guys

Thats my main concern to get the stress off the headers. I will try and get it up on the ramps this weekend and figure something out. Thanks for the advice I will locate some of those screws Gumby.
