H/X pipe really needed or worth the gain?
I am basically trying to get my car street-able right now. I have purchased Hedmans S bends extensions already and have them installed and had the 02 bung welded on already. I was wondering if getting a H pipe or X pipe would be worth it.
From my understanding, H pipes are good for low end torque and give a deeper sound, while X spreads it to the top end and reduces sound in the process. I have seen many exhaust systems on here, they all range from setups I see, but I have also seen some not running X/H pipes and just running from each header to muffler and dumping it before the axle.
Would it be needed for basically a stock L05 350? I can live with having 5-10hp less for now. I already ordered my Cherry bomb Glasspacks and would just want to get something on there besides open headers to test drive it before snow comes.
