HOLEY Exhaust

HOLEY Exhaust
Everything is clean on the car but my exhaust is quite holey. Im pretty sure it goes all the way to the y-pipe. Would it hurt to take it off and put on a muffler until im able to buy the rest. I know it will be much louder, but sometimes the exhaust rattles against the under body and its a little annoying. I dont have to pass emissions so im not worried about that. Thanks

Well, I kinda rather have it off because to me its the only real eye soar and i dont want any water to get in there. I kinda want to just build it from front to back as i get the money rather then all at once. What would be proper way. I dont want to put on catalytic converters, at least ide rather not

I dont know where you are from, however, so if english is not your 1st language, dont take this as an insult. Just trying to help.
As for cats, you legally have to have them regardless of if you are emission tested or not. Besides, a good high flow cat wont cost you any noticeable power, and the car will not smell.

Re: HOLEY Exhaust
Im a proud American. Everything from the y-pipe back has rust holes, the cat, the pipes, the muffler, and the tips(I don't know if that's the correct names for everything). I didnt get a good look at the y-pipe but ive been told they rust out pretty quick. I will be buying the parts separately as I get the money meaning im gonna buy the y-pipe, save some more and by the muffler, save some more and buy the piping, and so on. Ill take the chance of getting pulled over and buy the cat last.
I would like help on getting the rite parts for as cheap as possible. Thats as bout clear as I can make it?

Re: HOLEY Exhaust
thats much better! I assume you are stick with stock parts? the manifolds rarely ever go bad, so they should be fine, the y-pipe usually lasts longer than the rest of the exhaust, but if its rotted, ditch it.
is the car drivable now? its going to be more troublesome and expensive if you try to just change 1 part at a time, it may be better, if you can afford the time, to collect all the parts, then install it all at once.
the cat wont really be an issue unless you are getting the car inspected. Rarely are you pulled over and checked for cats, it happens, but not often.
