Nice! Just wish you hadn't deleted all your pics from your IRS install thread. That was tons of great info in there, despite all the haters that posted. Face it.....They were just jealous!

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
Go see (my 87 monster) c4 rear plus a better custom exhaust, and bumper to match.Take it to the next level.. FYI, you will have to change your rear shocks to coilovers,or you will burst them!!

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
Thats a very good setup. I have been thinking of doing that but was told the TQ arm is in the way. Mind if I ask how you did yours .......is the TQ still there ? factory , modified or aftermarket.
Closeups of how you did your T56 X-member and how the pipe is router around there would be great
Thanks

You didn't notice the rear end was different? He has a Corvette IRS, so there is no torque arm anymore.

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
I didnt know the IRS deletes the TQ arm......hmmm....another good reason to go IRS....but looks like a lot of work but 5 stars on cool factor.
So when choosing a IRS what year is recommended ? what yr did you (1meanZ) use ?

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
No idea, but probably not very good. I have a LOT of dial in work to do. I cut 3/4 coil off the stock front springs to lower the front of the car, eventually I'll put weight jacks up front when I can afford it. I am waiting on the parts for my rear sway bar to come in and I'll finish that. It will take me a few auto-x events or a couple track outings to get the car set back up. I may need to change front spring rates, and adjust roll stiffness as well as dial in my shock settings. I doubt I'll be lucky enough for this to be a home run right away.
I have looked high and low and I can't find pix of what you are talking about. I've also sent you 2 PMs of which you've not responded. Can someone else post a link to this car? Also FYI, I thought about doing center exhaust and decided I didn't want to cut up my storage well in the back. My battery is back there and that is where my tool box fits. I decided to go for simple, clean and understated, that is "next level" enough for me. I'd also LOVE an explanation of how I'm going to burst my shocks.... I have the appropriate bump stops in place to keep the shocks safe from bottoming, and since the shocks are longer that the C4 units and allow so much suspension droop that the knuckles hit the leaf spring, I put limit straps on the shocks as well. I'm looking forward to your explanation on this and a link to pix of your car.

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
Rapid Rods:
I finally found pix of your car but they aren't very educational because I can't see how you did anything. How are you mounting your rear sway bar? How wide are your rims in the back? Some other pix of the rear of the car under construction would be great so we can see how you mounted your coil overs, what you did with your fuel tank and wheel tubs, as well as the front of the differential mount.

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
Once the car is drivable and I get my rear sway bar installed I may take some final installed pix and post a few more pix of how the job finished up. There has been a lot of interest in the project and I do appreciate the interest. I just got tired of staying up late posting pictures just to have my butt kicked by a bunch of rude internet bosses.

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
The sad part is....Those of us that supported your efforts & looked forward to seeing how it all turned out & never once gave you any grief....Lost all the good info just because of a few losers who couldn't wait to see it finished & ruined it for the majority of readers.
I ask on behalf of the majority of TGO members....Please restore at least some pics & info. Please?
You get the last laugh on all the doubters, because you did it & did it successfully.

Re: new dual setup you may not have seen before
Not a hater, I love the Twin Traction Beam Ford 4x4 axle design... But for the rear, I would never consider IRS... A live rear axle seems like a generally smarter idea for most purposes and considering how many people here are EFI haters and prefer carbs, this is the last thing I'd expect... (For the record, I do LOVE carbs but EFI has it's points...)
What made you decide to go Independent Rear Suspension? IFS is bad enough... (At least on trucks) But I come from more of a 4x4 truck world so a street car viewpoint is something for me to discover more on I imagine.

If you design a race car, you put in IRS these days. The solid axle is great for drag racing, and it can be good for cornering, but it's never going to be ideal. If NASCAR could run IRS, I bet they would.
