Will a mufflex 4" catback interfere with a driveshaft loop
I was wanting to run the mufflex 4" catback exhaust and I was wondering if anybody running this setup or something similar has had any problem with it hitting there driveshaft loop or loops? I just don't want the exhuast to hang down any lower if it doesn't have to. I don't have the driveshaft loop yet, but it will be the next mod after the exhaust is done.
Any advice would help. Thanks

My mufflex 4 didn't interfere with the spohn ds loop...but my driveshaft did!! Or I'll say the loop interfered with the shaft so I cut the loop off. You should be good. Just tuck the y-pipe up as HIGH as you can get it. Mine was REAL low like 2-3" and I'd scrape cruising down a flat highway.

How is your y-pipe ran? Straight back or around the side like factory?

Mine runs like a Y really. Coming off my hooker long tubes the exhaust meets up right by the tranny tailshaft, then sits slightly to the pass side of the driveshaft all the way down going over the axle. I'll see if I can't post a pic.

I got the hooker 2460's going into 2 1/2" y-pipe merging at the back of the tranny into a 3" all the way out into a flowmaster super 44 single in/out. I got about a coke can clearance. This is killing my motor though. Thats why im going 3" y-pipe into the 4" mufflex. keeping the headers for now but would love to get some hooker long tubes.

Hookers are nice but hang way low. Hedmans are cheaper and sit up higher, plus I think it says you have an auto trans so they'd work without modification.

Also you could get them coated if you wanted too. Then make your own y-pipe in 3inch into a dual 3in to 4in y-collector. It cost me 300 to do hedman long tubes and my own y pipe. Prob. would cost 200ish to get them coated from Jet Hot. That's a really nice set up for 500-600 bucks. So idk what your new y is going to cost but I'd save the money and do it once.

My hookers r shorty's or mid length headers exiting right by the starter and oil filter. 1 5/8" primarys and 3" collectors. I got them ceramic coated by a local guy about a year ago. What hedman headers r you running? How was the install? I've only installed one set of hedmans on a 3rd gen but they were shorty's. Had to do some denting on the passenger side but other than that not to bad. My hookers went in with any problem though, never had to dent anything on them and go in and out pretty easy.

Ya those are prb. the headers I just took off of my camaro. I am installing hedman 64860 headers. Well make sure you got some time on your hands lol. It has taken me a few days but mainly because I used a hack saw and didn't have a welder. Today I went and used a friends band saw and welder to speed things up a bit. The pass. side went in great even with stock starter. Driver's side was more of a pain. Since you have a turbo 350...prb be way easier. I have a t-5 and the headers are not meant for it so the collector hits the slave cylinder. Had to dent it some then weld on an extension piece. I will have pics prb. sunday night. Could have done it without denting if welded extension at an angle. You prb. won't do any of this. Then I also had to dent one primary around the k-member and a-arm area. Overall not too hard. The y-pipe has ben the hardest but not too bad if you have the right tools. I am 21 working in a garage at an apartment with a small socket set, a few wrenchs, and hammers. Also, with the help of my old work to use band saw and welder.

actually I think the t56 will fit fine. I don't think it has a slave cylinder on that side. In fact it may be internal??? I don't remember.

No don't have the money for one. Plus I kinda want to do true dual all the way back with maybe powersticks and replace my y collector with a x-pipe.
