Anyone have a hooker aerochamber or dynomax?
I am looking for some sound clips of a Hooker Aerochamber so I can decide whether to go Magnaflow or to go with a Hooker or Dynomax.
Here is the thing, I have a 305 TPI with an L69 cam and upgraded to the full 3" high flow catback exhaust. I had kept the stock 2 3/4" muffler on the car but it was seriously hurting the performance.
I opted to go for flow and put a 3" dual outlet Borla stainless on and got the performance back but lost the sound.
I had the throaty, beating, growling sound before and now its muffled. I have been running it this way for a long time now, and just recently watched a video of an autocross I had done and heard the engine as it sounded before and want it back.
I like the deep, throaty sound of the Magnaflow at idle but it seems that it gets whooshy when you rev it. Theres a hint of raspyness but I want the raspy, resonating sound to be emphasized more.
Great example of a Magnaflow:

I have a flowmaster on my IROC that I bought and hate it.
If someone can tell me how to upload a VHS tape to youtube or something I could probably post a clip so you can hear what I am looking for. (Yes I grew up with VHS)

Yeah that does help, I found a DVD that we burned from the VHS and I just uploaded it to Youtube. Just waiting for the website to process it now...
You can really hear the exhaust note at the end of the first lap and I really goosed it at the end of the second lap.

Re: Anyone have a hooker aerochamber?
Well I just found out that the muffler that I had before that was on the video was a Walker stock type 2 1/2" inlet and dual outlet.
Before just recently I could not find a Walker muffler that would fit the 3" inlet with dual outlets and be the crossflow design so that it would look stock.
I recently was doing a search through Dynomax's website and found one of their
Super Turbo Turbo mufflers with the 3" inlet that I need.
Does anyone know if this part#17670 is a crossflow style? I would go with a Walker made muffler just for the sound.
