Edelbrook shorty's and Y-Pipe... HELP
Is there any truth that putting short headers (Edelbrook in this example) on a 305 will not result is any HP increases and that the shorty's are basically the same as the stock manifold?

no truth, just about anything is better than stock manifolds and y pipe, except maybe flowtech headers

Re: Edelbrook shorty's and Y-Pipe... HELP
i put summit shorties on my 86 iroc a few weks ago and i love them ... it might not help with hp but it does help with mpg and it sounds better too.
when i took my y-pipe off it was home made, cracked, smashed and bent. i bought the headers for like $90and had a y-pipe bilt for it fot $150. i also have a edelbrock 3 inch catback. granted it was a pain in the @$$ to get them off but im am so happy with them

Re: Edelbrook shorty's and Y-Pipe... HELP
i did it because when i got my camaro the guy that i got it from gave me a good pair of headers. later i found out they were lt1 headers. so i had my car tore apart with no manafolds for like 2 weeks ... but im glad i did it.

Got em'
Love em'
Pretty much any header is better then a stock log manifold especially if it on one of the low output motors like a LO3 or LG4(2.25in out those manifolds are even worse the the L69 LB9 L98(2.5in out I think) manifolds.
