header/y-pipe install gone wrong.. need help
Ran into a few problems on this install. Its hedman shortys and y pipe to match by the way. Installing the headers, big pain but eventually got them in. Started the car and it ran fine. Put the y pipe/cat. on next, install went fine. Went to start the car heard a loud knocking, sounded like the y pipe hitting the oil pan, then the car died. Took the y pipe off and started it again just to make sure, it ran fine, grinded down the y pipe just a bit then bolted it back up, had the same problem, i think its still hitting the oil pan but that doesnt explain why my car would die... anyone have any ideas
oh yeah as i was moving the car my breaks dident seem to be working right, the pedal was really stiff, is this just unlucky timing or could i have damaged the master cylinder tryin to stuff those headers in or anyone have any other ideas about this? thanks

I dont think the Y-pipe is the problem it should vibrate the same as your engine. Sounds like you unplugged a vacume line durring the install by the power brake comment. as far as the knocking, look for the exaust comming in contact with the body or any thing fixed to the body.
