Heartthrob Cat Back
Has anyone heard or used Heartthrobs' cat back system? I've done a search and did not find any information on these.

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
I've got the 3" system. It sounds great, no drone in the car and it sounds mean as hell when I got on it. I highly recommend it!! Install was a slight pain for me, but I was trying to mate it to a hooker Y pipe.

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
You don't happen to have a sound clip do you?
If not what is the sound comparable too, does it sound similiar to say Hooker or Flowmaster or some other brand?

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
and thats on a 350 tbi (stock)motor no headers no cat
hope fully i can get a couple wot clips.
i like the exhaust , sounded wierd to me at first lol becouse i was expecting a loud *** flowmaster sound. its decent at cruising but it gets loud at wot.
one problem though , the hanger on the right side tail pipe can not support the wieght of the exhaust (snapped), i had to make some innovations to make it work
it was at idle then it was from 25 to 50 rpm then 35 to 50 then 45 to 55

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
that hanger type thing has a rubber grommet in the middle so when the car goes over potholes bumps etc it will move and take the shock instead of a firm piece that eventually will snap
well u have headers so probably sound louder then mine or more of distinct muscle car sound.
yea thats my next project i gotta go carb lol

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
I have a 305 TPI, Hooker 2460's, 3 in y-pipe to 3 in intermediate pipe to a Heartthrob HVS series muffler and tailpipes, no cat. Love the sound. Had a #17227 Dynomax welded racing muffler before, this sounds better to me. It combines the good crisp aspects of a modern hi-tech performance sound with a deep, old school muscle car rumble. Sounds noticeable at idle / part throttle, aggressive at WOT.
The design is chambered similar to, but different than a Flowmaster, but the flow is superior according to Mike at Heartthrob, where my son and I each bought ours for both our 3rd gens. He can quote CFM flow ratings of various mufflers for comparison. Plus, no interior resonance due to the shell / body of the muffler being double wrapped. Heres the websight, scroll down to see a cutaway pic for the muffler.

Re: Heartthrob Cat Back
I'd ask a better question about who has Summit and Jegs cat backs. That is who they use as a supplier.
