edelbrock sdt
i installed a set of edelbrock headers, 3" catco cat, 3" edelbrock sdt catback. cat has noticably more power, and i think it sounds good. it seems very loud however. i dont know if im going to get pulled over for it. how many of you have installed a 3" edelbrock cat back? im i going to get a ticket? and im i have to get a different muffler? i am very happy with the headers edelbrock TES. great fit, alot of work to install but thats expected. i didnt have to jack the engine off the mounts either. remove a/c compressor, altenator, wires, plugs, ect. Y pipe is also of good quality, and the cat fits well. no extra adaptors, or reducers required to make all of this work. all else i can say is i went 3" and i love it. i hated that stock crap with a passion. now its time to get a performance chip. i feel like im driving a 60's car instead of a 80's car and i cant complain, if i get a ticket i will get a different muffler, maybe a flowmaster. if i dont get a ticket, it stays the way it is.

Re: edelbrock sdt
im running headman long tubes, headman 3" extensions into a summit universal 3" xpipe and dual 3" force mufflers with turndowns on my 350TPI....hahahaha i have yet to get pulled over for the noise...usually just speeding. my car is louder than any 3rd gen i have come across/vette/mustang and i get alot of looks but its a nice deep throaty rumble and the xpipe makes it sound even better above 2500rpms. ur ***** vibrate 3' from the car and i loveeeee it. u wont get a ticket unless the cops a douch, i think the flowmaster will be louder than the edelbrock. ive seen the edelbrock i installed the headers and ypipe on my 86 TA 305tpi and flowmaster catback but my 350tpi will eat that, enjoy the new tone

Re: edelbrock sdt
I installed nearly the exact same set-up (Edelbrock headers, Random 3" cat, Edelbrock 3" SDT cat-back) about 2 years ago. Cops have never given me any grief and it seems loud when you first start it, quiets down after 5 minutes of driving. It still drones on the highway though. I am not pleased with the *******-3" straight tailpipes that came with this system and replaced them with Dynomax OEM 2.5" turndowns. I was hoping they would quiet the system down some, didn't happen. I am switching to a Borla XS-1 muffler when the new engine goes in.

Re: edelbrock sdt
I have hooker headers to an edelbrock exhaust, without a cat, and I have yet for cops to pay attention to it.
