Exhaust cut out question
I know this may be stupid... but after reading urbanhunter44's stickied thread on backpressure... errr... "tuned resonance"... i am left wondering... if you put more than 1(or 2) cut outs on your exhaust at different positions, after the headers, and before the cat for example, wouldnt you be able to open/close them at certain RPMs (manually, or automatically like a nitrous stage) to change the length of your exhaust and have more than one peak in efficiency? It sounds like a good idea to me... but i am new to these sort of things... so i guess i am wondering would it work, or has someone already thought about it/done it, and found out it doesnt work?

Re: Exhaust cut out question
seems like to much work for such a small gain. cutouts are normally just used for the massive amount of nosie they make. atleast thats why i have mine
